A news report from the Telegraph, that May would consider scrapping the Good Friday Agreement in a vain attempt to save her sorry arse over Brexit. This could be the last throw of the dice from a desperate maniac. The people of these islands cannot let her get away with it.A general election now is the only real way of getting us out of this mess.

I'm not sure a general election will be much good Moaty.
It will get us out of this mess, but possibly just into another one.

This fracture in the Tory party over Europe has tumbled on for 30 years - surely to god we must be nearing the end game.

With the Real IRA letting off a small bomb tonight(I guess the Provos were the unreal ones) things don't look bright.I had hopes for People Before Profit, but how on earth do you deal with this kind of onslaught?I don't know, right now I'm sick of this woman and her shitey govt.

The Socialist Workers Party whìch you were a member of I believe, gave unconditional support to the individual terrorism if the Provisional IRA. The irony.

Don't get Labour shouting for a GE, they'd get pumped off the worst Tory party possibly ever. Not a good look.

Oh really,O'Riley. The Tories were humiliated at the last election while the opinion polls had them 20+% ahead of Labour. The only crumbs of comfort for them was in Scotland where Tartan Tories returned from the SNP to there natural constituencies.
This is not lost on Tory MP's and the sectarian, reactionary DUP, hence the Vote of No Confidence result.

I saw Diane Abbott using the same logic on QT last week. Doesn't factor in how dreadful the tory have become in the intervening time and Labour are still 6% behind in some polls? It's a simple fact that Corbyn doesn't appeal to the masses. He's obviously popular within the ranks of Labour, but outside that bubble he's considered rather shite.

For Labour to win a GE they would almost certainly have to win the majority of seats in Scotland where the SNP are still miles ahead despite their current woes. Labour are not even the second party in Scotland as even the Tories are ahead of them. To win a Westminster majority Labour would also have to win in the areas in England where Blair won in his heyday and for the life of me I cannot see these constituencies voting for a Labour Party led by Jeremy Corbyn.

I would not ever write Corbyn off though. He is a brilliant campaigner and managed to get many young people to vote for his party in the last election so being in an election campaign would suit him big time as that is where he is at his best..especially against Theresa May who never looks at ease.

We need to find a solution to Brexit now because coming out of the EU without a deal agreed is just economic suicide for the UK.
