That Top Manager & Coach Alex Miller

Apologies - there's already a thread...?/em

Can't believe he had his laddie as First Team Coach.

One of the two laddies he signed for us. Both feckin useless particularly the Graeme one...

Not making any excuses for him but I reckon it must be a tough place to manage in terms of handling the culture and so on. I think a lot of British coaches take on these far flung roles for the hell of it (and for the money of course), not looking very deeply into it and are rarely successful. On the other hand it's an experience I suppose and you have to admire their courage to try something totally different.

Ridiculous if that's true that he had one of his sons as first team coach. Miller always took "jobs for the boys" way too far. "Not Hibs class" is a very overused term but in the case of his laddies it was true in my opinion.

He did a fantastic job to keep them up apparently, but I can't say I've been keeping up-to-date with Japanese football :detective:

If he has hired his son as first-team manager, that's going a bit far really and if you were to judge on that alone it's no surprise he's been sacked.

He wouldn't be the first manager guilty of nepotism. Fergie signed Darren for Man U and Kenny Dalglish signed his boy Paul for Newcastle. Both players were hugely out there league.

Yeah...that would be like Fergie taking on his laddie as a player and his brother in the backroom staff - as if ;-)Actually IIRC the "Greg One" (lol) was a youth coach at Hibs until not that long ago...

I think Miller is a decent coach and he obviously has a lot of experience in the game, but for me he always lacked the leadership quality that is so essential when you are meant to be in charge.

The nepotism thing he got away with at Hibs, but his laddies just were never going to hack it. He'd have been better sending them into the army tbh.

He had a bit of a personality bypass, I think, and came across as dull and uninspiring.
