I was asked before kick off if Nissie was any good.
I simply said if you give him chances, he will score goals.
Millwall lined up in a 3-4-3 with Kevin playing through the middle.
Sutton started brightly and had a lot of the attacking play in the first 10 mins although the didn't create any chances.
Millwall then took control of the game.
Kevin's hold up play was vey good and he also played a lot of good first time lay-offs to team mates.
His first goal was a strike from about 20 yards, which although at the opposite end of the ground from me looked like the keeper should have done better. However from then on you could see the confidence in his game grow.
He was marked pretty "robustly" by two units but stood up to the physical challenge really well. He chased back well and won a couple of tackles which got him great applause from the Millwall fans.
He tucked his penalty away confidently.
When the free-kick was awarded I said to the guys I was with. I've seen him score a few of these. He didn't over celebrate. They subbed him at this point to huge applause.
The Millwall fans love him already and were singing his name. The statement they were all making was "Hope he doesn't get injured". Where have we heard that before?
Millwall normally play with a 2 up a guy called Tom Bradshaw. I think they will link well together.
As
@Two Headed Boy mentioned Duncan Watmore plays for Millwall and played in the 3 up top for Millwall. He was excellent a constant threat and his work rate was phenomenal.
At the end the Millwall players came over to the away end. I shouted out to Nissie and when he looked in my direction I pulled my jacket open to show him my Hibs badge, he looked surprised, smiled and gave me a thumbs up. I got a wee glow.
I wish him well. I've booked tickets to go to Millwall v Bristol City on 12th August.
As an aside: Before the match I was introduced to this guy called Ray in his seventies but lively and quite funny if I'm honest. After he left. One of the guys I'm chatting with says "he a right funny FCuker, but don't be fooled. he got 5 years for kicking a police horse after Millwall v Birmingham riots". I thought surely not!!
