5% of the fee is solidarity, and split between his clubs from 12-23. 2.5M, our share will be about 1MSaw this in the news today. Man Utd is interested in Super John and lining up a rumoured £50M bid. Time to start speculating as to what our sell on share percentage is,
This is what I thought it was. At 50 million that would mean 6.8 Mill to us before St Mirren get their chunk. It should leave us with about 4million.Hibernian will be due 15% of any transfer fee according to the Scotsman, and St. Mirren get 30% of that.
Good question. I never considered that.Do they all pay in installments?
If so does the sell on fee come the same way?

Good money for us and St. Mirren to be fair. It would allow us to overhaul parts of the squad that are desperately in need of it, without having to sell our main assets (Nisbet, Porteous, Doig)… although I suspect at least one of them will go either in January or the summer.
Probably the best thing he could do with all the flack he's getting from everywhereI think Porto will leave![]()

Yup, completely agree - then the hun apologist 'experts' who have hounded him in recent years will spout shite like "since portos moved on he's eliminated the bad side of his game" when it'll not have changed at all.Probably right tbf, English media won't be nearly as harsh on him.
Alot of people down there he could learn from a really go to the next level.
Usually fine with players leaving, but he'll be a massive gap to fill.
We can't even find cover for him, let alone a replacement.
Spot on.Yup, completely agree - then the hun apologist 'experts' who have hounded him in recent years will spout shite like "since portos moved on he's eliminated the bad side of his game" when it'll not have changed at all.
Pissing me off just thinking about it
Celtc probs sign him. That wid piss the The Hun right fuckin off.Spot on.
And if SJM gets a big move then it will be a fact that he was shit at Hibs really, not worthy of a Smelly jersey……… but man…. How improved did he get at Villa?
The absolute pish that so called sports journos write…. sometimes fiction, other times just pure Rantic-centric PR.
Yet none of them remember the behaviour of a Rangers Captain in the showers…..
5.25mThis is what I thought it was. At 50 million that would mean 6.8 Mill to us before St Mirren get their chunk. It should leave us with about 4million.
Not if the buddies get 30% of what we get, £6.8M x 30% = £2.040,00 so I was under, we'd end up with £4.7 mill approx.5.25m
Arent you a manure fan anyway or am I thinking of some other good looking bastard?Would be delighted if John went to Man Utd, would work very well with Fernandes and Van De Beek I think...
How do you get 6.8m , if its 15% of 50m, surely 7.5m , or am I wrongNot if the buddies get 30% of what we get, £6.8M x 30% = £2.040,00 so I was under, we'd end up with £4.7 mill approx.
Yeah, you're wrong. It's 15% of the profit Villa makes from the sale. The rumoured fee to us initially was £4.2MHow do you get 6.8m , if its 15% of 50m, surely 7.5m , or am I wrong![]()

You have the correct handsome bastard my equally dashing friendArent you a manure fan anyway or am I thinking of some other good looking bastard?
That was my calculation but asDub points out it would be 15% of profit made by villa . I.e. £50 m - what they paid us for himWe'd get 5.25 million
"
This would mean that if McGinn was sold for £50 million – which was the price tag Villa reportedly stuck on the midfielder when Manchester United were linked with a move in 2019 – Hibs would receive £7.5m and once £2.25m was removed to cover the Paisley side’s cut, Hibs would net £5.25m.
The Capital club has already benefited to the tune of around £2.8m following McGinn’s transfer to Villa in 2018 plus a tidy sum following the club’s promotion to the Premier League in 2019."
no its the total according to what i readThat was my calculation but asDub points out it would be 15% of profit made by villa . I.e. £50 m - what they paid us for him
