With all the Stone Roses nostalgia at the moment I have been mulling my favourite songs of theirs. I always thought they were a bit bandwagon jumpers compared to the Mondays and others - although mostly better musically. Dance music was also far more exciting than indie in them days as well. But you couldn't live through that era without having some stone roses favourites, so here's mine, what's yours?

1. What the world is waiting for
2. Elephant stone
3. Ten storey love song
4. This is the one
5. Mersey paradise

What the world is waiting for

Every post i have read i have thought....yeah i agree with that.

I could think for a week and keep coming up with different favourites.

Hardly an average song amongst their entire discography.

Every song is a flashback to my mid-late teens!:bbb:

Yeah pretty much the same here mate. Sitting listening to The Stone Roses full album the now and I can honestly say there's not a song on it that a sit and go, that's shite.

Quality! :bbb:

The ROSES were the best band o a generation IMOA . so many tunes mind me o watching"the hibs". Hanging aboot BOTHWELL STREET . lobbing stains into the Dunbar end . Running through the graveyard at st Clair street !!!! Fan fuvkin tastic days !!!! The next time I venture into a graveyard, well , I hate tae think eh doc !

I am the resurrection.

Absolutely bangin tune and top notch musical jam. Their first album is still one of my favourite British band albums of the past 30 years.

Also, I disagree about the Roses being bandwagon jumpers. I'm fairly sure we've had this discussion before but they distanced themselves as much as possible from the Madchester scene IMO despite being an influential part of it. I seem to remember reading that they were regularly asked to do things with other bands (plus Weatherall, Oakenfold remixes etc.) which they always turned down.

Wasnt what I was getting at, and no inclination to swing handbags over it again, but just for the record, Oakenfold remixed Waterfall 12' - whether or not with the bands endorsement i dont know, but he did play a set at spike island
