Stevenson drink driving hearing reaches it's inevitable conclusion

That's pretty lenient considering the breath count...

actually pisses me off.

I got charged for drink driving while sitting in my car waiting for a taxi. Never knew that was illegal at the time.
76mg, resulted in a 24 month ban and an 800 fine.
My lawyer also told me that 90mg would've been an amount which will have lead to a wee stay at saughton.

Yep, if you are in your car pissed and you have the keys about your person you are in charge of the car. Silly rule but there you go. Next time take the keys from your pocket and put them on the dashboard [remember and pick them up once your cab comes and you are out the car]. I think that makes you okay [still drunk but not in danger of being done for drink driving].

Aye I'm well educated on that rule now, they have to be out of reach, was told to put them in the glovebox or in the boot or even just sit in the back seats. There's no chance I'll be making that mistake again, judge doesn't look at circumstances or any of that, just looks at the milligrams per breathe or whatever it is and makes his decision.

Still think he's got off pretty leniently, my lawyer pretty much told me outright what'll happen. 12 months between 35-70, 24 months 70-90 and 90 and above is alot more serious..

I'm guessing it's not a standard thing though, seems to be alot of different outcomes for all sorts of cases I see in papers or people I know.
