I'd sign him up for a year. 10 goals and 3 assists for a struggling United isn't a bad return. Wouldn't be an automatic first choice, but definitely a very good option with a fit Boyle and Youan.

Imagine the moaning when the 36 year old striker was inevitably out injured.
We tried it this season and got 9 games out of McGeady and Marshall is less than tip top on the form front.
Cadden, Magennis, Boyle, JDH and McGeady are currently fillng the treatment tables.

Expect Boyle and JDH back before season starts. The rest well maybe no so much.

he did say he would like to finish his career at Hibs, perhaps a one year contract would consolidate a top 4 next season, if he scored 10 goals they could be the difference.

I actually said this to my old man on the way back from the celtc game midweek

He's definitely an improvement on Doidge and McKirdy. That's 10 goals with the worst team in the league. I think he still has another season in him if used right.

I think he is a better gamble than Mcgeady .I thought that at the start of this season also 😠

I’d have been happy with us signing Fletcher last summer. By all accounts he’s had a very good season despite playing in a poor team at a shambles of club.

He played more games than Kukhareyvch and scored more goals than McKirdy.

That said I think that ship has sailed.

McGeady was a gamble that didn’t work.

And cheated to get a penalty against us.

A fit Steven Fletcher would give us more than Doidge and Mckirdy put together and possibly more than Myko . If we could get him for reasonable money, no brainer from me .

Ideal for a season. Can bring along the young strikers at the club and with boyler and Elie surely get great service. Come on stevie. You know it makes sense. If we can get a finisher to our team we will score quite a few goals.

This. A goalscoring poacher role for one season with Elie and Squirrel, do it Hibs.
Unless of course Mr McDermott has much better lined up 👍

Excellent header of the ball as well, as I recall 👍
All these opinions have no effect in the grand scheme of things mind you 🤷‍♂️

One of the few strikers in Scotland who’s header is actually a pass rather than an aimless knockdown.

I thought Fletcher would have been a great addition last summer, the way the season panned out for Hibs and the way he performed in an awful United side suggest to me he would have been excellent for us.

I think we need an experienced centre forward and a physical presence up front, be interesting to see who we bring in.

We know Steven’s capabilities and what he would bring 👍
I’d far rather we got him than another lower leaguer with no experience in scotland or another experiment.🤞

Grant Holt came to Hibs at a similar age and did his job very well, really helped Cummings develop in the process.

They don’t need to have experience of Scottish football, but they need to be able to cope with the demands of it.

True but Grant was very experienced at a higher level, not like e.g. Harry Mckirdy, James scott etc .

I agree, what I’m saying is that’s the profile of player we should be looking for as one of the strikers we sign this summer.
