SPFL club close youth academy

Was just coming on to say this too.

They text parents to let them know. Season starts in a couple weeks I think?

Kenny Miller in charge there eh? If there's anything he could've passed on there, it's how to make the most of being professional. Now there's no kids to show the way.

Sad state tbh.

All due to Scottish football being a financial basket case run for the benefit of 2 clubs who can't compete financially anyway with other European nations.
Root and branch reform needed. It won't happen.
Mind you, Livingston are chancers too

Its based around the criteria set in place by the sfa for ‘elite’ youth training. The costs are huge as they are forcing lots on clubs that can’t financially deal with the requirements.

It's more than that. Clyde and a host of others in the lower leagues.
This is a Premier side, that's the point. We now have a team in our top league who, in order that they can buy players (because it appears to be the case) have ditched an academy that spawned Leigh.

The belief is that it’s more cost effective to pick up the cast offs down south than to develop from within.

I suspect hibs would tell you that kind of thinking is folly and damaging on several levels.
