Im at a bit of a loose end regarding college courses. I would one day like to be a Social Worker, and have applied for a HNC in Social Care as I believe that's the only way to get me into social working. However I only got offered an NQ as I don't have any experience in the care sector, although my exam results prove I can study at HNC level. To be honest, I don't want to spend a year doing that, then only getting to the HNC afterwards. I have been told that studying Social Sciences is a good place to start also. Has anyone ever studied it? If so, was it any use, or interesting? Any advice would be appreciated.

. College I was at didn't do a social science course so had to see the year out before doing my HND in social science at another college.
