Hello,

We're 2 Stoke City season ticket holders groundhopping our way through Scotland. 38 of your 42 in, plus 2 more due to 2 relegations Cowdenbeath and Bonnyrigg Rose.

We're planning to be next up the weekend of your cup semi-final, where we'll hopefully go to the Stenhousemuir game on the Friday, the Arbroath game on the Saturday, and we were hoping to do your semi-final/derby while we're up there, if we can get tickets.

I've visited Easter Road back in 96 for the Friendly V's my team Stoke. And my mate has previously been and therefore has a Hibs account, but it's an old email address he can't remember which one as it was ages ago. I tried contacting the ticket office but they are closed on Monday and there only seemed to be one block left on sale.

So is there anyone who has 2 tickets spare or can get us 2 tickets. No problem if not, just thought it worth an ask.

We can check out how Nathan Lowe Is doing whilst we're there, how is he doing BTW (crash hat at the ready)?

Cheers
Jif

Pish so far but unsure if that is the way we have been playing him. New manager in place now so lets see in the next few weeks.

Post a photo of you and your mate, if your eyes are awfy close together, we'll ken you're gunts

Very funny. Definitely 2 Stokies groundhopping. We were up in Inverness and Dingwall a couple of weekends ago. I had to translate your reply through ai if that helps to see what a gunt was.

I was surprised at the move tbh. He's done well on loan at Wallsall but we called him back in a crisis and he did little to help. He then went on loan to Stockport County and Wycombe Wanderers. We've been desperate for a striker for seasons now and neither Lowe (or Emre Tezgel) have been able to step up and take their chance. He always looked a but one paced to me (slow). But he's young and an eye for goal so we'll see. Good luck to the lad.

A “gunt” is a slang term referring to the fatty bulge below the belly button and above the pubic area, often linked to weight gain, childbirth, or natural body shape.

Otherwise, another name for a Merrick;))

Good luck with your quest

It's wrong.

It's a spoonerism of our local rivals.

Corgie Gunts.

I stand corrected, i'll let ai know.

Iv'e emailed the ticket office so see if they come up trumps, not a disaster if we miss out, would be nice to go being a big derby and we're up there. If anyone can help please let me know.

Been to Hampden, a Queens Park game and the cup final PARS V Celtic. Also done the Glasgow derby, the Edinburgh and Dundee ones are on our list, as well as the 42 (44).

Welcome.

I quite fancy the challenge of groundhopping the 42 SPFL grounds in one season.
Could I suggest if you are going to Cowdenbeath to to it the same day as a Racewall stock car racing event on the oval surrounding the pitch, go to the game at 3, racing starts about 6 ish. I have been to Cowdie for both the football and the banger racing, but never both on the same day.

Cowdenbeath was the 1st one we did back in 2019 V the now relegated Brechin City. As we left the ground the stock cars were outside being worked on/revving up.

Done well over a hundred grounds down here with Stoke and some many times WBA 30 odd now. Scotland is challenge for us given the miles involved and fitting it in. Loved it though.

He's a carthorse, to be honest, and if there was a whip round for his bus fare back to Stoke, I'd seriously consider putting some cash in. Maybe not his fault as SDG probably played him out of position but he's shown very little to warrant paying even a part of his wages thus far.

Speak to @Power to see if there's anything he can do to help.

Not sure where you've played him, but he's a number 9, nothing else in my view. Albeit he's not great at winning balls in the air from the keeper.

We had a forward years ago, Colin Nish, who was quite tall but seemed to shrink when he jumped, and Lowe is in that mould. I think he's won a handful of headers since he's been here. He's also pretty slow and often looks like he is running through treacle. Sorry, mate, and it's only my opinion, he's gash and not worth spending money on.
