Sent Christie oot tae face the music. Thought Robertson was captain?
 
Very poor performance from Scotland.
Slovenia by far the better team and fully deserved to win the game.
I thought we lacked energy right from the start, and I always feel Scotland need to play matches at high tempo to get
anything out of them, and we never really got started tonight.
No excuse for jaded players though as Slovenia have played exactly the same amount of games as Scotland have, and looked fully of energy throughout the game.
It was good to see some young players being brought in and being introduced, but we really do have a long way to go at international level to get
to where we want to be.

Is Pocognoli going to be Berti Vogts Mark 2?
What do you reckon his plan was tonight?
 
...and whilst we are all moaning how much longer do we have to suffer Liam McLeod, must be someone else up and coming who is more erudite and less performative than him. Feels like he's always trying too hard and does not have an original "voice" like Crampsey or MacPherson. Passable and forgettable when we win but torture and more aggravating when we lose!

I don't know, but the players looked knackered tonight after playing 4 games in 12 days.
Could have done with more changes just to freshen things up a bit.

Trying to see positives, I think the new players who came in done reasonably well in these games.
It's going to take a while though, and in the modern era of football you don't get time.
Clarke, as I said in the summer, overall was a very good Scotland manager...probably the best we have ever had.
He got the most out of a limited squad of players, not always, but most of the time.
Qualified for three tournaments which is exceptional for Scotland since the 90's.

Our big problem is that since the 1970s and 1980's (the absolute golden age of scottish international football) we have just failed as a nation to produce good enough players to compete at international level. Until we start doing that, we are going to continue as we are no matter who the manager is.

I want to see a completely new Scotland team built by Pocognoli, and to be honest, if that means we fail to qualify for Euros
or World Cups then so be it if that is how long it takes to eventually get us competing again as a football nation.

I think it’s going to be really hard not to qualify for the home euros with 2 host places available for teams who don’t qualify automatically

It’s Scotland, if there’s a way to fuck it up, we will find it 🙈 There’s no way that Porteous is not, if not better than anyone in that defence. Christ Hendry cost us last game and after ban walks straight back in and he is shite.
Very strange that RP nowhere near that squad.
Gerard successful along with the media in fucking his career up?
I know he hasn’t helped himself, but who in that defence has?

The major downside I see to Ryan is that he's playing in a pub league. It's not certainly not helped Angus Gunn's game.

They said last night pre-match the "Super Computer" gave us a 95% chance of qualification via one of the 3 methods (qualifying group, nations league playoffs, 2 highest ranked host nations not already qualified). But if there's a will there's a way! 🫣 Mind during the world cup we were something like 50% to still qualify after the Brazil game and that slowly crept down to zero as the remaining matches were played :gigglle:
