Absolutely awful. So glad I changed my mind and never went.

Be a long time coming before I give a jot about Scotland anymore.

well at least he got through unscathed. Never seen such a lack of lustre since... last first half o hibs i guess. On to the 'real' game next, I'll keep the saltire in the cupboard though...And i really had the stupid idea that strachan might just be the right man at the right time... :(
 
Just back. That was shite. Canada well worthy of their draw - had the better chances.

Far more entertaining watching Hibs at ER.

Strachan was the man at the start...then went a bit mental/senile and got into his dour Muirhoose ways of "Up ye's...I'm boss" And now we are utter shite again run by an utter shitey shite of shiteyness SFA.

We will never do anything of worth with those cockcheeses at the helm. Sigh.
 
I won't repeat how shite Scotland were, but just congratulate Canada on a decent result. I do have to admit I'm a little biased being a native of Canada. I quote from the Sky presenter 'The only decent thing to come out of this match is it's over!'

Unbelievably the Canada scorer is likely to line up against us on Saturday for Falkirk. You couldnae write it...
 
Miller and Hansen where the centre half pairing last time I went to a Scotland game . I see things are improving then.

It's time to stop playing the old guard and start over. Empty Strachan and all the dead wood in the squad and persevere with the young players. O'Burke and Rhodes should be starters along with Griffiths, Snodgrass and McGinn. Enough of the slow lumbering garbage we keep churning out. Get some youth and exuberance in there and build on it.

But surely they have to be playing for either of the old bigots or an English championship club to get in the squad? At least we can wait until they're all past it has-beens surely?

Snodgrass always plays when fit, Griffiths started last competitive game away to England, Burke will add to his caps now should have played at wembley, not sure about Rhodes and not sure if SJM is ready yet looking at our other midfielders.

when Strachan inevitably leaves soon, probably next week if we lose on sunday, I hope we go for a foreign coach not some SFA / weedgie media friendly wank.

Vogts probably did better than any Scottish manager in recent times apart from McLeish and Berti had a very poor squad to work with..three shite managers in a row now has taken its toll on the support

35 or 45 quid for Slovenia at Hampden on a sunday night live on TV and fans will probably be criticised for not turning out... ( slightly cheaper with £50 quid Scotland Supporters Club Membership...)

Yes, YES, YES! I have been saying this for ages! We need a non-Scottish manager!It would eliminate the old boys act, there won't be some prick picking favourites because of the team they support and the friends theyve made.Slag Berti all ya want but he got us closer to a tournament than anyone since.

Wouldn't it blow yer socks off if the SFA went for it and hired someone like Roberto De Matteo? Currently unemployed, Champions League winner, likes to play with wingers...

Doesn't change a thing though. We still won't qualify and we still need a new manager.
 
Missed last nights game, was at my laddies show, decent result against what sounded like a fairly turgid and defensive opposition.

There's plenty that know more about the set up in Scotland than me, but a change in manager ( although probably needed) isn't going to make us much better anytime soon? Isn't the main issue down to facilities, league set up, influx of average foreign players and certain clubs hoovering up all the talent and not using them well enough?

Investment in facilities and more coaches properly trained, regions where kids have to play for teams in that region up until 18, a requirement for championship/premiership clubs to play more homegrown talent, and a root and branch culling of everyone in charge of football in Scotland. So not much then. :lookaround:

Also heard the guy Martin got booed last night. That's stale as fuck.
 
Martin booed on the park last night. Then scores the winner. I thought Scotland played well last night particularly in the first half. Only 4000 more at Hampden in a World Cup qualifier than was at Easter Road in the Championship.

did the booing sound loud on TV? was barely aware of it from south stand at Hampden certainly not the whole support who were excellent just a few bams.

think a lot of folk wanted to see Rhodes instead of Martin who has been really poor for Scotland and some expressed frustration at the sub which of course turned out to work a treat. not really conviced by Rhodes either

good performance and great win against a reasonable side, two full backs were excellent

LG got a dull one in the back from the keeper I think

loads of well kent faces from Easter Road spotted in pubs around Hampden and in the ground

poor crowd but £35/45 on a sunday night live on TV when team is struggling doesn't help nor does no direct trains back to Edinburgh after the game ( bus replacement service from Falkirk...)..

It was loud enough to hear on the TV. Also, you're right about Griffiths. The keeper jumped for a ball and raised his knee when he did so, kneeing Griffiths in the back. How that isn't a penalty is beyond me but keepers get away with it.
