A quick post to get the ball rolling in this one.

Our first visit to Greyskull since it became home to so many refugees from the Gunts’ league winners failures. It still smarts that it wasn’t us that put an end to that dream but that’s water under the bridge now.

I know very little about any additions that Del Boy has made to their squad other than the obvious additions from Tynefritzl and actually I don’t care. It’s about how we line up and play that matters.

So a team:-

Sallinger will undoubtedly keep the gloves though I still feel we played better when Smudge was in goal.

Will it be a back three or a four? I think a four and though it pains me to say it but Hanley might make a return. Joined by the very solid O’Hora, Passlack and Obita who has hit a bit of purple patch this season so far.

I can’t see both Mulligan and Chaiwa not getting a start. I’m hoping we’ll also see the impressive Callum Wright get his first start.

Up front I’d like to see Elding, Lowe and Suto at the kick off but suspect SDG will start with Boyler again for his pace.

I suspect it will be a tense affair but hopefully a big occasion like this is what is required to make the team gel. If we can score first and unsettle the natives I think we stand a good chance.

Massively difficult game for Hibs right now to get anything from, but here's hoping.
Rangers have had, shall we say, an underwhelming start to the season, but I think there has been an overreaction to their first leg defeat in Europe on Thursday night.
They should still get through in the return leg.
However McInnes will now be getting used to the non stop goldfish bowl existence of being an Old Firm manager, when if you don't win a match you are a club in crisis.

Playing what will be a depleted Hibs team at home gives them the chance to get off the ground this season.
Add to that Hibs will have Thursdays' return leg in North Macedonia in mind, which (hard hat on) is a more important game in the general scheme of things, then if we get anything from the Rangers game I will be pleasantly surprised.

Re Team selection; We will see quite a few changes. We might see wright, Suto, Klidge, Newell, and possibly Megwa starting.
We are going to need the full squad fit and available over the next few weeks so they will all need game time.

A draw would be a great result in the circumstances.

If we go with only Chaiwa and Mulligan in midfield , we will get over run, after Thursdays game Suto and Wright deserve to start IMO. I can’t see Klidje starting, SDG obviously doesn’t rate him. As an aside, where has Manneh disappeared to, have I missed something?
 
I think the introduction of Suto and Wright changed the game on Thursday, so both should start on Sunday. I’d keep the back four together, they’ll only get better as a unit the more they play together.

The Huns are shite, nothing to fear, hope we play with purpose.

I think Hunco can be had.

They're no ready to be a problem yet.
I don't really see any changes unless injuries.
So Chaiwa and Boyle got a little doubt over them? Boyle was heavily iced on the bench after coming off on Thursday.

I'd put Wright in Boyles spot.


I think we'll be 3421 again. Can't see that changing for this game.
 
The Huns are well off it. They're under pressure massive pressure having dropped 2 points so early. So tomorrow we find out what they're all about. I do hope though the tactics and team is to show what we're all about....
 
The rapid games keeping coming, and we’ve barely recovered from our late win on Thursday and were straight into a visit to Ibrox.

hearts of Govan were quite chirpy at their new arrivals but failing to win at Tannadice and a capitulation on their European travels see the knifes being sharpened for the biggest orange man in Scottish Football since Jimmy Calderwood.

I don’t know what kind of game to expect, but if we could not concede an early goal that would be grand as that would just take all the pressure off them.

We’ve a big game on Thursday, so there must be some element of rotation or will SDG persist with what he sees as his strongest team and attempt to play them into form.

This is what I would do:

Firstly, I’d switch formation. assuming Rangers don’t go 2 up, in which case 5 at the back is fair enough.

I’d go 4-2-3-1

The personnel I’d go for would be:

Sallinger

Passlack O’ Hora Hanley Obita

Mulligan Chaiwa

Campbell Elding Suto

Lowe

But I’d love it if Jamie McGrath was back.

So what we all thinking for a strategy and team?
 
Wouldn't surprise me if we start out in a 541 or 532,certainly need to get a grip in midfield as we've been too easy to play through.

That wee thug Devlin will be given even greater licence than he had before to assault his opponents now that he's moved to the The Huns.
The Gorgie Galacticos enjoyed extreme leniency from the referees last season, despite their whining and huffing about how hard done they were, and no doubt Devlin will get even more blind eyes turned as he hacks and barges his way through games now.

Is Devlin not injured?
 
Rangers likely to go 4-2-3-1 with Shankland the 1.

Not convinced that 3 at the back is the best way to combat that this, although we are pretty tactically sound this season with in game tweaks for players positions in and out of possession - the most obvious one is Obita playing left of a three but getting forward to make the overloads on the left when we’re attacking.

Shankland doesn’t move and isn’t quick when does - but if we play the game in our half giving them lots of possession it will end in tears.
 
No Hanley must be away, not sure we can afford to allow a leader leave from that position, the changes are ok, not a fan of the central defence. Maybe Wright should be starting? Klidge can't get a start for long enough but starts at Ibrox, weird one.

In any case, I don't hate it. Campbell behind Klidje is a good fit for both imo, second balls n that
