He's got bags of ability Mags just can't help but get the fear every time we have a ball crossed into the box
 
Smith must have been pissed off to get a chance and play well only to get dumped back on the bench again. To me there is nothing between them.

There certainly isn't much mate. Both great shot stoppers. Only differences I can think of is smith is better at coming for crosses and communicating with the defence and Sallinger has far superior distribution.
 
Good shot stopper but doesn't always think hard enough about his distribution - there was that weird pass to O'Hora (I think it was) along the byline that nearly got us into trouble and another to one of our midfielders when it was obvious that there were huns all over him like a cheap suit.

Add to that, some proper sweeper keeper stuff from Sallinger.
Very quick off the mark when Hunco got through the midfield.
Once I thought we were fucked on the TV last night and he just appeared on screen to clear, well out his box.

Smith will stand his ground and attempt the save, Sal wouldn't let it get there.

His shot stopping last night was top drawer tbf, had no chance at the free kick, that was a cracker tbf.

Also his distribution can at times be superb
