Was a great player in a great team.Stopped the Turnbill's tornadoes from winning the league.Won the European Cup, not bad going.

Before my time, but he played in the greatest Scottish club side of all time and scored in two European Cup Finals.
My dad said he was a tremendous full back with some shot on him.
Actually I did see him play come to think of it. Anyone remember Paddy Stanton's Testimonial match against Celtic in 1978 ? Gemmell came on as a sub for Celtic much to the delight of the Celtic fans in the 25,000 crowd...that was until he took his Celtic top off to reveal a Hibs top. He played for Hibs for the rest of the game.
