Candyman (2021) is a out this week and I'm looking forward to it despite the 1992 original being one of my all time favourite horror flicks.

Are there many remakes/reboots that have surpassed the original though?

The Thing (1982) and Scarface (1983) are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.

There have been a few attempts at the Jungle Book. But for me the outstanding film is the Disney Cartoon with Louis Prima et al.I went to see the newer one in the cinema, it was ok, but not a patch on that one.

Oliver Twist and Oliver! Two entirely different films on the same subject.Take your choice which is better.

Only thing I can really think as being better than the original is the Chris Nolan Batman films.

Highlander being reworked and it will be Henry Cavil playing the lead role. How on god's earth can you top Sean Connery and Queen? I'm so glad they haven't touched the most recent Flash Gordon either as that is another classic with a great Queen soundtrack.

No idea if the movie will be any good or not.
But as I'm of the opinion that Sean Connery couldnae act and Queen were a shite rock band for people who don't actually like rock - I won't write it off based on those things being different 🤨
