According to Hibs Observer he has joined the team in La Manga. He's a winger (ex hun) but that would suit the managers style of play if true.

His auld man is Rocky's fellow countryman, although he is Welsh.

Current bun that works for me just sent me this

If he signs, best make sure it's for modest wages because he'll be seeing every minute of his deal out

Think hes been injured quite a bit. Career looks like its on a bit of a downward trajectory.

He was released by Brann last month, it's no like he's been sitting around for months and months.

Dunno how or why he was released though. Signed for them in March, played 3 games and that's all.

Only 26, plenty time to get his shit together.

And free agents are our only option if we're trying to do business just now. Nothing can be done about that.
Just, short term deals only for the time being please Hibs.
Give the guy a chance to assess everyone and everything before leaving him lumbered with the first player you see for 3 years.

At least there's a ready-made choon for him if he turns out to be worthy of one

"Ooh, ooh, ooh, Oh Rabbi Matondo
[insert new words here] Matondo on the wing
Matondo, Matondo
Oh Rabbi Matondo"

His wages could be a stumbling block he’s been on about 20k a week most of his career

Similar to Vaz Te.

Imagine if there’s a deal, it’s a short term deal to get him back playing and back into the shop window

He is another Kyle MacGinness. Spends more time on the treatment table than on the pitch..Probably a short contract no risk signing and I doubt he will be in a position to demand a big wage

Tough decision. Give him a year's contract he'll be brilliant then leave for free and not get injured at all, give him a three year contract he'll play two games then live in the treatment room.

I'd give him a deal til January at the latest.
If he leaves then that's fine, we should be looking for longer term signings during the windows, rather than committing to someone we can only pick up cause we need something now.

That sounds much more sensible than me.. My instinct is always just, ' heard he's really fast, better sign him on, sure he'll never get injured with us'

Aye it's starting to look like he'll sign.

Any truth he's been involved in 4 goals over 2 bounce games?

My concern with Matondo as i've said before is his past record playing in Scotland.
We don't want another waster looking for a contract, then pissing about once he has one.
Rangers fans I know said he was very inconsistent and mucked them about big time.
Capable of occasional great skill and goals, but then hid for months on end.
Unless Marink can be the one who believes in him and can get the best out of him, that's what we have to hope for.
I've an open mind on this, but if he does sign then we'd better see a fully committed player ready to give everything.
We cannot afford any prima donnas this season, it's going to be tough going from now on this season and we need everyone pulling their weight
in every game.

I agree with those points.
A different way of looking at is - IF our new manager can get this guy fit and playing consistently well for us then it's a huge indication of how good Mr Marinkydink is....🀞
