With the season fast approaching - only 4 weeks to go, does anybody know any good methods of preseason training which doesn't involve alot of equipment.

P.S, I'm a keeper

Tip a trampoline on its side. Bounce the ball off it and catch it. (Works your reflexes)

Go to a beach and just run...

What are you looking to do though? Are you talking improving your fitness or your technique? :glassraise:

It wasn't meant that way at all :rollfloor

You'll find the latter hard to do on your own. :glassraise:

Well me and two friends are going out to do pre season this afternoon, so if you have any ideas :lookaround::lookaround::dub::dub:

Plenty ideas - but neither the time or inclination to post endless keeping drills on here :rollfloor

You must have picked up handling drills from coaching you have had in the past? Spot volleys, footwork drills etc?

Do you not have a routine for before your match? (Or have you had one of the teams where the coaches think warming up the keeper involved hunners of shooty ins and nothing else?)

If yer serious about yer pre-season, get down to Peffermill. :giggle:

Correct, spot on. Hell, tbh I've not really had any "proper" coaching either. My usual "coaching" at both my previous clubs has been we hit a ball at you, you save it, then we cross some balls in, you collect them, then you join in a game at the end. Woo the fun

Edit: Can't make peffermill, got to look after wee brother during that week

Make sure you ask your team coach about the Tuesday night sessions - they cost YOU nothing, Salvy arrange it.

Well shamefully, I'm missing training tonight cause I've got tickets to Hibs Barca, but on Sunday I'll be asking about it. Theirs only 4 weeks to go till the season starts, so do you have any idea roughly when it will start??

thanks again SKII
