Plastic pitches.

No plastic pitches will be allowed in our top league from season 2026/27.
Raith Rovers and Falkirk are the only two clubs it could current effect should they get promoted.

The Raith Rovers pitch appears to be 6 years old so potentially they could be looking at ripping up an 8 year old plastic pitch.
Far more of an issue at Falkirk whose plastic pitch is only a year old.

I would think that if this is a rule then the SPL must help to ensure that clubs that are promoted are helped with regards to the pitch required.

We should never have the situation that if a club that wins the championship is not allowed to be promoted.

A quick google suggests a plastic pitch is good for 8 years so Raith Rovers pitch will be that age when the ban comes in.
For me Falkirk should be allowed to keep their pitch until it needs it's 8 years old if promoted to the top tier.

Apparently the installation cost of a grass pitch of the required standard would be over a million quid and the yearly upkeep 750k mainly due to the price of electricity for the lighting rigs used to keep the pitch in tip top condition.
