Ex-Hibs Jorge 'Pit Bull' Claros has come on at half time for Honduras against England. I heard it explained for the first time the origin of his nickname; and sadly it's nothing to do with any footballing prowess! Evidently in the past at home he was caught up in the cross fire of a drugs brawl, sustained a headwound from a shotgun and then drove himself to hospital!!

I know he was much admired at Hibs for his passing and distribution exploits in midfield but can anybody actually remember him making a tackle?? Or was it him that took Broony out in the 2013 SC Final, and promptly got booked??

I bet he made more successful tackles than any other player in the 2012-13 season.
He also came away with the ball under control just about every time, rather than taking out the man or lumping the ball away.

I wish we still had him at the club, he was our most consistently good player in 2012-13.
He must be without a club or with a new club as he seemed desperate to get out of Honduras.
From a Petrie perspective, we could have bought him for last season and potentially made a profit after his likely appearances at the World Cup.

He would have been ideal as one of Butcher's centre-mids, innumerably times better than Craig/Taiwo/Thomson/etc.

Was good to watch, not only for Claros, but cause England are fuckin shit hahahaha

It was fairly well documented on here and other places when he signed?

Indeed but I was under the impression that the tag came from the Honduran belief that pitbulls had lots of stamina :nonchalance:

EDIT: Did he play well?

I liked Claros :high5:

He had a bit of a dodgy start but ultimately proved himself to be a very good player who, along with Lewis, rarely had a bad game that season. I wish he was still here.

This. Would have been great with Stanton and Robertson. Claros was excellent. Great player who seemed to enjoy his time at Hibs. Was sad to see him leave.
