Foe runner types like me, new world record set today for Parkruns. Was st Cramond and the new 5k record is now 13.45 if anyone fancies their chances. I'm a lowly 25.10 set at Cramond when I was 55

Used to do Cramond Parkrun regularly but it got way too popular and the car park would be stowed out early doors. Not worth the hassle.

That’s an impressive time! Back in my running “heyday” I was so close to breaking 20 minutes a few times, but never quite managed it 😞

13:45 is impressive and 20 seconds faster than the Womens World Record on the track

It was indeed, though should be noted it was Andy Butchard who is the Scottish 3k,5k, and 10k champion. Jamie Crowe came in second at 14 23 and he is a former Scottish 5k champion.

Ah, Butchart is an elite athlete.
He was and may still be 2nd on the UK all time list for the 5000 metres on the track in a time almost 40 seconds faster than today's time.
