In the pointless but somehow worthwhile fact of people on the internet recognising people they'll never know, I would like to pay tribute to the people, including now a British nurse, who have travelled to the Ebola hot zone to help people there.
There goes a courage I could never possess, something beyond running at a gun emplacement, which while I suspect I could not I could just about imagine being possible if all my finest moments landed at once in the same place and time. But this? Living with the constant gnawing pressure of a slow agonising death while wading through the shit and blood of self combusting bodies? Nope, utterly a level of courage of which I am not capable,
These people destroy any possibility of despair,
