Sketches of Spain is one of my all-time favourite records.

The brushes on the snare at the beginning of All blues is one of the most perfectly recorded few seconds of sound ever recorded IMO.

I'm quite pissed, however, all I know is if you're talking jazz you're basically talking Miles Davis and John Coltrane?

Billie Holliday, Ella Fitzgerald, Charlie Parker, Louis Armstrong ...

Even someone like me who kens feck all about jazz knows that this statement is a bit off the mark. Bomber and big G could probably add a list as long as your arm!

My collection alone is as long as my arm.:thumbgrin

My collection of jazz music is as long as my cock.

As I've explained to Big G on numerous occasions, I've tried ,& tried to ' get' jazz, but it escapes me.

However, having read of the demise of Glenn Frey, excellent musician that he is, I would rather go on trying to 'get' jazz, than spend 60 seconds listening to The Eagles.

Nutshell.

Here's a nice easy piece of soul jazz from the hammond maestro - Jimmy Smith...

Reasonable price for anyone who wants to get into jazz on 33 1/3 - Miles' Kind of blue on 180g for a fiver, its even in my local corner shop

Jazz on vinyl - De Agostini

Was planning on buying this in Morrison's yesterday but to no avail, headed round to my local Scot-Mid again they didn't have it.

I remembered you posting that you had seen it in a corner shop, headed across the road thinking i had no chance and there it was.

Best fiver i've spent in quite a while. Playing it as i type.:thumbgrin

What's the ones that came with the large hole in the middle, you need a plastic adaption to play it on your turntable? They 78's?

I don't have any 78's but i do own a few 7"/45's that have no middle that needs the "plastic adaption". This was quite the norm with collectors of Northern Soul records.
