This has to stop. Words needed between those involved, this can happen here or there, but there has been so many signings never getting a chance or getting binned quickly it shows there are problems within the scouting/manager/malky…. So much money wasted but worse still it’s is hugely hampering us in our progress

There's a load of signings who do make their mark too.
There's always gonna be shite ones.
Klidje and Manneh stand out, but Manneh isn't getting ahead of anyone at the club. Klidje too really. (Although Klidje has a stronger case imo)

I've got issues with some of the goings on, but overall transfer business is much better than before Malky or since George Craig.

Was pretty much Craig that rebuilt the team which won the cup.
He doesn't get enough credit
 
Trying to think how much he actually played for us. Can’t imagine it’s much more than 5-10 appearances. Don’t even know I saw enough of him to decide if he was shite or not

According to the press release it was just nine appearances across all competitions. Not sure how many minutes that actually equated to as I can only ever remember him coming on as a sub.

Being red carded at Paisley 13 minutes into his debut against St Mirren probably didn't help matters. Downhill from there on in it would seem unfortunately.
 
I couldn't tell you whether I thought Alasana Manneh was a good player or not.
Given that he hardly played for the club in a year and half at Hibs.

Yet another permanent signing either excluded completed, loaned out, or punted.
You can bet he will have taken fair amount of money from the club in the time he has been here,
and Hibs will have had to pay off the remainder of his deal. What have we had in return ?

Just cannot get my head around these signings.
What is the point in bringing in players from abroad or here if they are not better than what you already have ?
Something has went badly wrong with this one, more or less from the start.

Anyway, good luck to the guy for the rest of his career.

You could add Vente in as well…. Imo our system of scouting and or planning for the team is inadequate to say the least. Doesn’t seem like their is a plan or any kind of cohesion, method or strategy

I agree that something doesn't work between Malky and Dave.
Overall I think we sign good players. But it's easy to argue we don't always signed players that suit what Dave wants to do.

Mentioned just above that George Craig and Stubbs had a much better relationship in that. Stubbs had his football, we gave him the players. One left, another came that filled the same role.

Too many departments. Too many people with ideas, nae cohesion.
Abdulai looks like he could be the next player that list.

Vente isn't a bad player.

Will probably get a good move in the future...that will pocket us money.

Just didnt seem to settle.

Dunno about that. His 7 goals in 30 appearances for Herenveen isnt much better than his 5 goals in 32 games for us.
He looked a good player when he came but is 27 now so maybe one or two more moves in his career and nothing pointing to him being a goal-machine at the top level. Before he came to us he was banging them in in the Dutch 2nd division, but hasn’t made the step up against top tier defences and keepers.
 
Small sample size, but didn’t look to be better or even on par with any of the midfielders at the club during his time - Triantis, Levitt, Newell, Mulligan, Chaiwa, Barlaser…

Poor signing by Malky. Hope the laddie gets a fresh start somewhere at his level.
 
Something went spectacularly wrong with identifying this player. He was barely given a sniff so obviously dismissed as nowhere near it. Looking at the comments from Gray and Malky when we signed him what went so spectacularly wrong?

On his signing, Hibernian FC Head Coach David Gray said: “We’re delighted to bring Alasana to the Club.

“As a player he’s very competitive, has a fantastic work ethic, and has good technical ability on the ball. At 26, he has good experience at senior level and playing in high-level leagues, and he adds extra strength in depth to the middle of our midfield. I look forward to working with him.”

Hibernian FC Sporting Director Malky Mackay added: “We have been diligent in our work throughout the January transfer window to ensure we add quality and not quantity to our First Team squad.

“Alasana is someone we’ve been watching for a long period of time knowing his contract was due to expire in the summer. After positive conversations with OB, we’re delighted we’ve been able to agree a deal to bring him in during the January window, so he can make a real impact from now until the rest of the season.

“He has a real good pedigree coming from Barcelona’s Academy and playing in the top-flights in Poland and Denmark, and I look forward to seeing him perform for us.”

Clubs with far bigger budgets and recruitment teams than Hibs sign players occasionally who don’t meet expectations - it’s par for the course nowadays. I’d far rather have seen him playing in a Reserve League than wasting away on the bench but the powers that be have other ideas.
 
Is there perhaps a language issue?

I can see how young players coming in with limited English could quite quickly hit a downward spiral if they, for any reason, can't make the next step up in communicating.

That would be a barrier to anything and everything.
