Mankind's origins in Europe

Field day / disaster for various tribes of bampots in the - my hunch, unlikely - event this theory gains more evidence:

Long story short; hominid remains found in Greece and Bulgaria predate anything found in Africa, supporting theory that hominids split from apes in eastern med and crossed land bridge into Africa.

And now, nearly 7m years after our antecedents found in Europe, it looks like Homo sapiens may have emerged in North Africa and not where we were long thought to have come from, in east Africa

I binge watched a program called "how the universe works" brilliant stuff, but you're right, it's mind bursting. Distances, sizes, masses, temperatures and just time itself is beyond anything you ever imagined.
