Malkay MacKay Not At Dundee United

It appears Malkay Mackay didn’t go to the game on Saturday, therefore, missing the new manager’s first game.

Mad story circulating he was on holiday . Looking on social media, suggestions he was at a concert abroad

Rumours he doesn't bother with the 'wee teams'.

Only been seen once at a Hibs women game apparently ... when his daughter (neice or something) was playing for the opposition!

I'm not sure I've heard anything positive about him for a long time.

If he wasn't there yesterday it looks to me he thinks he's got to a stage in his employment where it doesn't matter what he does, or how he behaves, he'll get away with it. It's unacceptable.

The longer he stays the weaker Ian Gordon looks and the less effective our anonymous CEO is. Whatshisname should be reporting this to IG and the pair of them should be working on a replacement.

He’s empire building, we know about David Marshall and Brian McLaughlin we don’t know about others.

Would he survive if our new manager doesn’t work out? Almost definitely because the current narrative is the failures were down to his previous managerial appointment and not the football department as a whole. He acted decisively to remove a club legend who actually had a pretty good record.

I’m not sure the DoF needs to attend every game, but I know previous ones did. Sometimes it’s about how you are perceived rather than what you do.

He seems to be completely different type of person to George Craig or Graeme Mathie.

More a Ben Kensell, Lee Johnson type character. I think the Americans love someone who talks their own ability up. I don’t think the fans love that as much, they prefer walk the walkers to talk the talkers.

Don't see him getting binned until he needs to sack Reedijk.
He'll be afforded this whole managerial stint imo.

I’m agnostic on MM. if we were on a long winning streak no one would give a toss if he went on a jolly when we were playing.
Thing is Gibby we're not on a long winning streak, the mens first team isn't winning, it seems from updates on social media the young lads are getting beaten much more regularly than last season and even the ladies aren't doing it.

The football department is failing.

He’ll never be sacked, IG doesn’t have the baws. He’ll probably leave of his own accord like Kensell did (conveniently before the accounts were released that showed he lied at the previous AGM)

I'm no as against Malky as some.

But it's football, the schedule is known well in advance and they have plenty opportunity to get time off. Teams just been away, it's been an international break, he's just hired a new manager, I'd expect him to be around tbh.

Every job application Hibs put out involves being available on match days. He should be the same imo. He's heading up the dept.

There was a long off season and a 3 week international break. Of course, everyone deserves a holiday but ffs, could have been planned better

Maybe he had meetings or other engagements during this time he couldn't pass up. We don't know just folk moaning to moan.

To be honest

I couldnt care less if he never rocks up again. I stated a fact. There is a long close season and just had a 3 week international break.

Tbf there are a few reasons… you can’t change a date if it involves another persons private business like a wedding or such likes
Manager, coaches, kit man, players can’t take a holiday, they need to be at the game.

Sporting director should be the game .

You get your holidays and days off allocated

So he couldn’t go to his best mate’s wedding? Daughters wedding? . Funeral??? Shankly was wrong by a country mile. I don’t like the guy but ffs.
But you say no excuse whatsoever? Nonsense

MM is obviously the new hate figure , suppose at least he's taking the heat off Joe Newell . If we'd won would anyone have even cared if he was there or not ?
Because he has overall responsibility in his role for what's happening on the park? And he's very well remunerated for doing so.
