Watched The Flying Scotsman for the first time last night and what a great film it was. Absorbing viewing and apart from the "built from washing machine parts" legend, I knew little about this national hero. Even allowing for dramatic licence, I never realised just how amateur he was when he first won the World Record and Wolrd Championship.
A true sporting great.
