So now a labour councillor has shout d in a rally that they should cut the throats of Nazis and fascist.

Kind of weird thing for a leftie to say when the extreme left are the fascists.

Funnily enough...don't see anything on sky news at the moments about it. 🙄

Imagine someone who wasn't a leftie said that?

There feet wouldn't touch the ground before being jailed.

Er, who defines who is and isn't a Nazi? Given that, like the word Fascist, it has been over used to the point of meaninglessness. I've been called a Nazi for supporting women's rights. Should I have my throat cut? Just asking.

I think we need to go back to original sources.

It seems to me to be defined by a preoccupation with the Jews as the root of all ills, combined with a fervour for identity politics and socialist economics (albeit to the right of orthodox Marxism but very much to the left of social democracy). Other secondary characteristics might include enthusiasm for environmentalism, particular loathing for ‘bankers’, and among the hardcore, a vegetarian bent.

If we are still struggling to delineate, some additional peccadillos might include predominance of marginalised groups one minute, then vicious throwing them under bus the next (gays in the original context) and an admiration for, and fellow travelling with, Islamic ‘warrior’ culture.

This seems to me to be considerably different from contemporary thinking on Nazism, where it can be found identified with brown skinned women with Jewish husbands and surnames, protestors against anti semitism, and indeed Jews themselves. But while popular amongst those preoccupied with Jews, favouring of identity politics and with an enthusiasm for socialist economics, I nevertheless think it contains a few flaws. Such as being completely fucking hatstand.

Try reading the post again. I think it’s pretty clear on this point. I’m saying that hatstand mofos are given to identifying brown women with Jewish husbands as Nazis, but I personally think we need to go back to basics, and to identify nazis by their preference for Nazism.

I think that may well be onto something.

Tommy Robinson is not a Nazi. He reminds me most of all of anti Zionists, in that his preoccupation with ‘Islamists’ can seem quite porous around the edges, and at times can seem like flat out euphemism for Muslims / Jews. But his obsession seems to begin and end there. He doesn’t seem to have anything against blacks and opposes anti semitism which is incompatible with Nazism.

He is however, a little hood with none of the intellectual resources supplying his ammo that his mirror images do, while amongst his neddish army the firewalls have collapsed between that original obsession and out and out racism. He has thus walked his lads into a trap.

If it was just them then fuck em tbh, but it’s not likely to end there. This can and perhaps will be used as license to leave the left behinds even further in the dust. As the late great Ian Archer had it of rangers, they can be filed under ‘permanent embarrassment and occasional disgrace’.

The realignment is nearly complete, and when our generation passes no one will ever remember that the left was once concerned with a disempowered post industrial proletariat beyond putting them on a state drip and wishing they’d STFU already.

I suppose that's why alot of them were hired opposed to killed after the war.

And alot were given a free pass to South America.

I doubt it would be much different.

Is it not the case that Labour got around the same vote as they did previously and lost? Dug with a red rosette springs to mind for this win.

The last election was as much about no-one voting for the tory bastards.

I tend to agree. He looks clueless but I’m not sure his predecessor would have been any better.

Starmer has a more difficult job with this as well given the prejudices that riddle his particular party.

Tbf he has got courts banging folk up pretty much immediately, which I believe he presided over personally after the much more violent 2011 riots (I forgot 5 people were killed during them).

I saw a headline earlier, can't find it now.

It said the number of civil servants earning over £100k had increased by 40%. There were almost 500,000 civil servants in 2022. I suspect the headline comes from the 2023 stats being released. In 2022 there were 1,600 civil servants earning more than £100k, meaning there will now be 2,240.

Wage increases are around 5%.

Possibly this @Jack - and your account is in line with this.

I think this is right wing gurning nonsense. The civil service as whole might arguably be smaller, but these are senior and exec level management positions and are not out of line with the private sector in amount or ratios vs general staff population.

If the telegraph really wants to pay permanent secretaries, head of NHS England and people like that, sub 100k, especially in London, then they have no business greeting about the quality of services.

A token charge of say £2 per prescription wouldn’t hurt anybody in my opinion. I know people who get stuff on repeat prescription and give it away because they don’t need/use it any more. At approx £35 per prescription that’s just madness and needs to be stopped.

PS: if you know of any Gaviscon-based cocktail recipes let me know.
