Just back . Just deflated

The Gordon family are good people with good intent but they've failed. Time they sold up. They should be firing Malky Mackay, David Marshall and Garvan Stewart today.
The Gordons must know the contempt the fans have with Mackay but I think Mackay has dug himself in deep and they either can't get rid because they dinnae ken how tae run the club or they're quite happy tae let Mackay take the flak.

I have no information and it just my own observation. I get the feeling out new manager has cracked the whip with regards certain players and they don't like it.

I feel certain players have probably been there too long and have had too much of a 'say' in the past.

The passlack appointment of captain is very telling imo. The body language of certain players tells me some are not happy and some appear to not be giving 100% for our new mgr.

With that we now have the ingredients of a team who will be fighting relegation.

Malky is the microcosm of all that is wrong with our club at the moment. Nepotism and 'jobs for the boys' is rampant..

You sometimes reap what you sow as a club..
I don't think you're far off with that assumption

That was as rancid a home performance as I’ve seen for a long time.

A team with zero confidence, constantly playing the ball backwards. It’s easy to see why they have no confidence - the goalkeeper doesn’t really make any big saves, the centre backs are easy to run past as they cannot defend on the half turn and they don’t get tight to their man, the full backs don’t stop crosses, the central midfielders don’t show for the ball with the intention of playing it forward, we create very few clear cut chances and the ones we do aren’t taken.

Falkirk absolutely cruised that game, they didn’t need the ball to be in complete control. Nor did they have to work hard for their goals.

I’ve got massive concerns about the manager already - he’s failed to galvanise the squad or lift the confidence. His starting line ups and substitutions don’t seem to make much sense. I think his messing around with the captains just adds confusion and awkwardness into a low an already confidence dressing room.

He’s inherited a poorly assembled squad lacking in quality throughout, that’s not on him, but his remit is to get them performing.

The club is going backwards at an alarming rate, although the signs have been there for a while. Under Malky the squad has ended up weaker at the end of every transfer window (excluding the first one). Every single player who took to field today was signed by him, excluding Boyle. He’s decided a guy with no top flight managerial experience (and no playing career experience) was the right option mid-season to replace Gray (who was himself a rookie manager), I can’t see how that was ever going to work.

Found it odd that amended our home kit to suit their home kit but the clash was still terrible. Surely if we go all green they go all white (they’re away) and it makes it clear as day.

I thought American football had the right idea with the away team historically wearing white

Last week was strange as it was a perfect opportunity to go all white

I’m never convinced with all green because of the white sleeves.

Seems trivial really but feels like something else to resolve

A great 3pm KO Saturday. Met my mate and travelled on the bus from Kinross. Went to the battle cruiser and met up with his son and mine, and another couple of Hibee legends for a few beers. All good so far, it’s what Saturday is all about.
We started off with a high intensity which I think we have lacked, we moved the ball well and certainly had a lot more energy in the team as of late. But then we are 2 down, which from my seat seemed self inflicted. Top level fitba, does not allow basic errors, they will and were punished. I did think our goal on 43 minutes would level the luck out, and stupidly said to the boys around me, that we would go on to win the game.
The deluded fool which I am 🙄.
2nd half, we looked to be dangerous without creating much then I looked in amazement as he took our most dangerous player on the day ( Klidge) off, and I feared the worst. My fears were compounded. We then for the last 30 mins never looked like scoring in the old adage of a barrel of fannies. The game petered out to a damp squib.
The adage of you are a sum of your parts comes to mind. Because we have some decent players, but we have guys who would struggle to get a game for Arbroath or the the likes.
I will mention players who gave me positive vibes, let’s keep it at that. You get my drift 😝
Salinger is probably as best we can hope for just now, he is just above “okay” Ivezic I thought looked like a leader and composed, encouraging. Passlack is better than most players we have, and gives his all and demands it from others, I like him. Klidge, looked dangerous today, I have doubted him loads before, and when he got subbed today, my gunt sank for a few reasons.. Elding scored and seems desperate to have another decent player beside him, his workrate is fantastic. And on that note, I did think the players worked harder today than that have in the past, which is actual a negative on them. Shame on you boys 😥.
As for Mulligan, I think my young lad @tattie and gravy has said to me, it must the case that sometime soon we are going to learn that he has been carrying a groin or hamstring injury for months which actually needs operated on because he is not the player we seen last season, and I don’t doubt his attitude.
So, a defeat was painful, but I did see an intensity which has been missing for a long time. We just have to hope our luck changes and we turn a corner.
I would still have SDG as our manger, but he isn’t and I will carry on supporting the team I love, and through a tough day, I seen positives, but they were hard to find.
We will, however, put the gunts to bed in the semi. Trust me , I’m a doctor 😝

Well, that was a shit show for the most part. I agree with you that Klidje looked up for it and was having a decent game when he inexplicably got subbed. I don't know why the penalty award didn't stand because it looked like a penalty to me, and I haven't seen a replay.

For a lot of the second half, it was like a reenactment of the Alamo as Hibs camped out in Falkirk's half, but nobody seemed prepared to have a pop at goal, and we passed the ball to death until Falkirk got it back, lumped it up the park, and we had to start again.

The biggest disaster for me is that I now owe @Tiger Prima a fiver, and he'll milk this for all it's worth.

Klidje should have been subbed for that backheel. A gift for the Bairns. Get him to pay @Tiger Prima.
From the FF Upper we always doubted the penalty would stand. Looked outside the box.
Fucked if I'm watching a replay either.

Yeah, I agree the backheel was poor, and I reckon he panicked because he isn't used to being in that position, although iirc nobody was there trying to help him out. I've got more chance of you paying Roy his fiver though.

It seems obvious that the away team should be playing in their away strip. It's the same with any team in dark blue. I'm starting to worry about Starks Park next season.

In the cold light of day, it was two (possibly three) individual errors that led to both of Falkirk's goals. Abdullai's frankly amateurish losing sight of the ball. Klidje's ridiculous back heel to no one (which in a way was Mayor's fault for allowing himself to get corralled instead of blootering the ball forwards when he had the chance). Of course, none of these mistakes should be happening in a top tier side and certainly not with the regularity that we seem to make them. The manager is right when he basically said we were the agents of our own demise. Trouble is our game has been error strewn for far too long. Think about Megwa's & Chaiwa's howler the led to our European exit. It feels like we are constantly playing in panic mode. Just need to chill out and play football.

No excuses for what he attempted.

Klidge was at fault for Falkirk's second goal for his ill-advised backheel attempt, but two things.
As a striker, he just doesn't have a defensive instinct and was boxed in down at the corner due to Mayor's stupidity,
and there were at least two further mistakes after that leading to their second goal, Ivezic lost his man too easily when the ball came over.
Sallinger lost both goals at his nearside post, although I have to say Murrell took his goals well.

Abdulai was dispossessed leading to the first goal...again though there were chances to stop it.
Azeem is a big strong lad and when he has time, uses the ball well and tries to at least get forward.
This is his big problem though...like so many other young players coming from the lower English leagues, he wants
too much time on the ball and you don't get that in scottish football.

No mention of the handball decision.I heard that it had maybe come off his knee first. But from where I was high up in the East about half way it looked like deliberate hand ball?

When that run of play finally stopped. The ref put his hand to his ear as if listening to VAR, then indicated the ball had bounced off the players knee onto his arm.

I thought it was a clear hand ball as well....and a penalty should have been awarded given the "rules" nowadays.
This is what pisses me off about VAR and the "interpretation" of the rules now.
When you see the massive amount of penalties which are awarded now for handball which are a total joke, such as the ball being hammered at your arm etc, then you see something like what happened yesterday.
Just scrap the hand ball in the penalty box rule FFS...no player deliberately handles the ball in the penalty box.
