Never been. But a fascinating place. They don't do disasters lightly do they? Living on the Pacific Rim they must half expect it.Good luck to them in the next few days they are going to need it.

I teach English to Japanese students online, during a class once the student's flat started to shake violently due to an earthquake, things dropping off the wall behind him, poor guy just sits there and says "sorry, one moment please".

Most of the students were stocking up on a few days supplies but the way they talked about it made it sound like a normal weekend for them.

I definitely recomend a visit, it's a tremendous country to see.

I know a few who have been to Tokyo and a couple other cities and every one of them loved it and say there's nothing else quite like it.

I'd like to go and see it.
