Potted.

Obituaries seem to be following the pattern while he was alive. ‘No great artist’ but ‘connected with people’ kinda stuff. I’m not sure how these statements go together, while some mentally disturbed person spraying bodily fluids onto a canvas to sell to some rich cnut is somehow more ‘serious’. Or indeed some public school wankers gurgitating some ham fisted ‘work’ propagating public school ‘revolutionary’ politics. Not to mention the avante garde maniacs such as the moo who repeatedly got herself pregnant in order to abort, and declared this an art work.

For these reasons and others, I will say RIP Jack, one of the actually great artists of his time.

Though not my cup of tea :coffee1:

R.I.P.. Jack 🥲 fellow fifer, gone too soon, whose work will be forever remembered . No mean feat tbh 👏

Excuse my ignorance but I had heard of Jack Vettriano and always thought he was a guitarist.
Obviously he wasn’t.
RIP

You’ll likely have seen prints of his paintings I think. We’re everywhere at one time.

Wasn't a fan but hats off to a working class gadgie made good.

And as you say, what can get passed off as art these days is beyond belief. Animal cruelty is now "art" apparently. :coffee1:

How the fuck is that 'art'?
What kind of mind thinks it is, and actually tried to exhibit this ?
