I'm sitting in the house killing time before my opticians appointment at Brown's Opticians, Portobello Road, and the door bell chimes.

I hope it doesn't take long as I'm about to leave!

It was the guy from the opticians shop that I made my appointment with!

Home visit!?!

My optician has called in sick, they didn't have my phone number so the guys driven down here to tell me not to bother going!

When I get my reminder letter asking me to make an appointment it can take up to 2 years (I know :-) for me to actually get round to doing it so I'm far from being their best customer.

I'm still in a wee bit of shock that they took the trouble. I'll really have to make an effort and get that reappointment soon ;-)

Proper customer service from the opticians. Well done to them, they deserve to have some positive advertising [as you are doing] out of that act of kindness.

If you have seen it all...you probably don't need an optician anyway :wink:
