Roll on 3 years time grandpa

So what your saying is if your wealthy you hold on to your money?

No, I think what he's saying is that grandpa people have all the money. Not surprising given they'll generally be more experienced and higher up the career chain, as well as being further up the property ladder.

Slightly off-topic but I was buying a couple of odds and ends from the German baker and this rather well-off looking older couple practically shoulder-barged me out the way at the till having already jumped the queue! Apparently money doesn't buy manners :detective:

How does 90% of the wealth held by >45's differ from previous times?
The older will obviously hold a large share of the wealth for the reasons whiskas gives.

However things have never been as they are now, where doing the same job as your father will get you an awful lot less than it got him.

The boomers are the wealthiest generation in history and look likely to be the wealthiest one for the foreseeable. There children are the first peacetime generation in recorded history that will have a lesser standard of living than their parents.
