Remember the name.

Nearly 3 weeks since her throat was slit by a thug sitting behind her on the subway. 5 other people sitting in that section of the carriage and what did they do ? Nothing.

Another man walks up and takes a picture of the blood running down the carriage. A lot of people there and Iryna dies alone.

Nothing in the news, no celebrities posting videos and crying, no black squares, no protests.

I wonder why that is ?

"Other passengers rushed to help her" in the report I read.
It's in lots of news reports.

Horrific & extremely sad story, but are you really trying to compare it to the industrial-scale killing going on in Gaza? What should people be protesting against in this case? That the guy shouldn't have done it?

Maybe the same people that protested when an American thug died while resisting arrest

3 weeks since she was murdered….close to nothing reported.

I find that odd.

From the video I saw, at the time of the attack, the people nearby did nothing.

You have to be careful these days. Daniel Penny stepped in to subdue a belligerent black guy on the subway and he ended up going to trial for homicide. He was found not guilty.

This is what it is like here, one big open air psychiatric ward. It is only when one of the mental patients murders someone do they get removed from society.

Why do we have to compare every other event in the world to Gaza? We dont even compare other current wars and slaughter to Gaza - indeed you will get a stern ticking off for doing so -so why can we not address street crime as a separate issue?

A better comparison. What's more odd about that situation is it caused a national convulsion 3000 miles away in this country, caused even covid to decide not to interfere with mass public gatherings, had the now prime minister on his knees along with every second celebrity.... and yet concern over tens of thousands of rapes and a number of murders here, is for the racists.

Agree, they are totally incomparable but that is what he seemed to be doing in the OP so... 🤷‍♂️

Its the story of people in this day and age.
Too scared to stand up and be a man.

I watched the whole video,and it's horrific.

Its no surprise the media say nothing...they are an absolute joke.

RIP Iryna.

Probably most murders that happen in the UK aren't covered by the UK national media.

Hardly surprising then one that happened in a country 4,000 miles away, where there's a murder every 30 minutes on average isn't covered here.

Very sad though.

Wasn't much covered in the states either, is what people complaining are implying. No idea if that is correct.

Similar incident in Chicago

A young woman, identified as Bethany MaGee by her family, was set on fire onboard a CTA train in the Loop. Lawrence Reed, who was previously arrested 72 times and was on electronic monitoring for a separate crime, was charged in the attack. Court documents reveal Reed had violated his curfew several times in the days leading up to the attack. And on Nov. 17, the day MaGee was set on fire, an alert went out just after noon that Reed was in violation of his curfew. Hours later, Reed allegedly attacked Magee on the train.

News

She did survive but what a horrific thing to happen.

From the video i saw on social media, nobody was interested in helping that poor girl
Couldn't watch a video of that, but hardly surprised that the truth wasn't reported. Probably one journo made that bit up. And others followed.
