I'm genuinely an Instrument Mechanic to trade so could probably suss out a space ship. Doesn't seem too difficult.

To clarify though : Is it 6-12-2 evenings or 12-8-2 nights?

To clarify also : Is it a made up up job on an actual planet or a real job on a made up planet? I'd need to know before I gave up my real job.

Boogie, boogie.

Jesus, really?

Eh..

Which spacecraft am I in control of? I'd hate to be in control of a spacecraft without the appropriate controls being in place to ensure I don't crash into other spacecrafts. I'd need really specific controls in place, this is a specific job and I don't take it lightly. Do you even have the control records of the other spacecrafts in the vicinity? I'm not entirely sure this job is being taken seriously if I'm honest.

Ha its not a joystick and computer screen job..... The satellite is in orbit... You dont need to move it.. you monitor it send commands to it take info from it and control the ground station....

The satellite is for earth observation

You go through three months intense training then you go on shift after completing a test which is verbal in front of a board of five people who ask you questions for an 90 minutes

You then do a practical test showing you know the system

Crikey, I never knew it was so intense. Thanks for the heads-up.

I'll be honest, I'm ok with Google Maps but I have no idea how you'd get a picture like that. I actually really want this job now. Can I pay for it? My life is somewhat incomplete without it if I'm honest.

I'm actually experienced at controlling RoVs so am pretty sure I could handle an extra dimension. I'm maybe being silly, is that enough experience do you think?

Wow, three months training and a 90 min interview to get trained to control earth? To think I did a 4yr apprenticeship and all I was doing was working out electronics and radiation and stuff like that. I can only assume I'll be in good stead for controlling earth?

Pray tell, what does the practical test involve? I really fear I don't have the intelligence. It seems tough.
