Politics I'm not on 'Obamacare' I'm on the ACA

Oh man, I can feel the burn from here. I'm imagining his "oh no" moment. What a fud.

ooft. Then again he's kinda right in the core point that they couldn't be trusted to get it right and didn't. It's a bit of an 'Edinburgh trams project'; something got delivered albeit at at vast cost and more expensive (at least for many) than what it was meant to supersede.

Given the disasters of Obama's reign it's not much of an entry on the positive side of his balance sheet. Shoulda just went feck it and tanned the private insurance model with a national insurance scheme. Sure it would have caused him big political problems but compared to leaving the world and America in the very dangerous place he has managed to leave them / us it would have been small beer.

I have a big problem with the way vaccines are done over here. I refused having my wee guy get the flu shot, then told the nurse she wasn't jabbing him in the leg five times in one sitting. Made them split it in to three different times.

The ACA has been a bit of a damp squib. Basically, it forces people that don't have health insurance to buy it from the government sanctioned plans/providers via the government shitty website. A lot of people are buying cheap insurance but the coverage is not very good. And if you are an employer, clucking bell, the admin on this $hit is unbelievably unwieldy. It's horrible.

A national insurance type model is unlikely to catch on here any time soon. Probably never.

which is about the worst model conceivable, front-ending the world's already most insane healthcare model.

Well, the "world's most insane healthcare model" actually works very well for millions of people. Let's just say that the NHS isn't what it used to be.

I didn't say the worlds least effective medically I said most insane; I base this on the fact that the US spends more public money per capita than any other country in the world while having a private system never mind one not free at the point of use. That is truly bonkers.

Ps to put 'more' in context; more than the UK and Sweden combined.

Well as long as it delivers for millions of people, we go along with it even although we know it's insane. Replacing it with more insanity was just more insanity for the sake of being seen to be doing something.

No disagreement with you there. The media are drooling over him until the end but this is about the only concrete 'accomplishment' anyone comes up with and it's an epic botch - and not much to weigh against leaving the US more deeply divided and the world more scarey than has been the case for decades.

Not a good president at all - possibly worse than his predecessor even - but fawned over to the end by the establishment media and the luvvies.
