David Gray at the moment is a 50/50 chance of staying.
However if he was to be replaced. Who would you want?

Unless there has been a total breakdown in the working relationship between MacKay and the Head Coach, then i'm pretty sure Davie Gray will be Hibs manager next season.
Two years in the job...a third followed by a fifth place finish, and two consecutive years of European qualification (First time in 50 years), that's not grounds for a managerial sacking from Hibs.
The Gordons and Mackay will know after two years whether or not he is the right man to take us forward, and for me anyway, he is.
It's not about stats, style of play, personality, or individual matches...it's about results and where we are at the end of the season.

When the time comes when David Gray leaves Hibs and we are looking for a new boss I will give my opinions on threads like this, but until then please let's get behind our manager and his team. Next season is going to be difficult enough. We need everyone at the club to be pulling together.

I can't see him going tbh and I'm glad. Two seasons in Europe shouldn't be sniffed at. Im more interested to see how we get on in the transfer front. Hoping at least one in the first week of June.

That's the long and short of it.

I think if we can back Gray in the right way through the summer, we can address the legitimate concerns around entertainment value and goals. We've played good football under SDG before, we can again.

I'd want us with someone else but he's no a 50/50
Even for me, sacking him is harsh. I want him to get offered a decent job and takes it.

I just don't see him doing anything different going forward, will cost him long term if he doesn't start getting more from the team.

The chances of Gray not being here on August 1st are below 10%.

He'll not be poached.
I doubt he'll have a mental breakdown.
Converting to Amish, 7th Day Adventist, Orthodox Jewish, Jehovah's Witness or Ulshter Shez No! sects isn't likely.

A sackable offence of losing to Progress Niederkorn🐻, Connah's Quay Nomads🥧, Bohemians🐑, Birkirkara:yams1:, Borat Borough or Mother Teresa Academicals in the last week of July is possible, but I think we look as close to bomb-proof v. diddies as we've been for a while.

If he did go and the anti-fitba, useless, sourpuss, killjoy in charge of the national team wasn't staying on at Hampden, I'd prefer him.

Failing that, I'd poach Stephen Bradley from Shamrock Rovers.

The only managers in Scotland I'd not be aghast at are Elvis & Imrie... and Martindale, but he's not a manager.

What we will get will be Sassenach greenhorn or an exotic non-Brit that nobody's heard of. In either case, the chances of us averaging 4th place over the next two seasons would be lower than if we keep Gray.

I'm pretty certain SDG will be the manager at the start of the season. My guess would be they will reevaluate his position in December.

You WOULDN'T be aghast at Pressley managing Hibs!

Crivvens.
😂Aye... I see everyone's viewpoint on Pressley is the same.
He's a weirdo. With an irksome Elgin accent. And a Gunt.
However, I've watched more highlights of Dundee than anyone else since January and he's improved them incredibly.
I like him because there's scarcely anyone in Scottish football with a good word to say about him in public and even Gunts fans dislike him.
Behind the scenes though, there are stories of him acting as an unpaid agent for players, paying wages from his own pocket, housing players with drink problems in his own home to keep an eye on them and generally being an exceptionally sound fellow.
I'd rather not have either him or Imrie - who's also a mite weird - but I'd not be concerned if he arrived.

Valakari at St Johnstone plays an expansive brand of football that I want us playing.

Finland?

Jens Askou, Denmark.
I've been asking for a Scandinavian, but Nordic would do.

I think there's a lot of talented coaches that want to play football the right way in those leagues.

I'm intrigued to see what they are like next season. I've not seen them much this season myself but my St J supporting pal is cooing about them like they're Pep era Barca.
Aye I've heard really good things seem them in the highlights reel you get on the SPFL page and they look really good going forward! Think he'd be an exciting appointment I'm sure we'll wait another season and stick with gray whilst they have a stormer and he goes somewhere else 😂 classic Hibs that

Aye and we can't forget Knutsen at bodo either what a job he's done. More proof you can achieve great things with a tiny budget! It really is all down to coaching in this country why we underachieve so badly as a footballing nation.
