If I was the judge presiding here I think I'd jail this women

I particularly like that she considered difficulty holding an "hors d'oeuvre plate" to be the key issue. Comes just above "difficulty wielding my caviar fork" and "problems with getting the Mercedes into first gear" as challenges one might face.
 
In reading more about this I've seen comment that in the US families sometimes do this together when the injured person isn't covered by insurance and the 'injurer' is. What a mental system.

Don't think that's the case here though based on court case and years after the fact. Looks like it was the boys inheritance from his deceased mother that was being chased which is even more sickening if true.

Regardless of the kind of litigious society that even tolerates entertaining these kinds of actions in the first place, I just can't get my head around how people get to a place that even considering this sort of stuff seems remotely reasonable in their head. Probably because of the former condition. Sigh.
