I see he's about to be appointed as coach of Saint Etienne.

Had a pal who's a fan message me about him. I said he was actually a brave and innovative appointment. Thoughtful and intellegent. Which is why he never made it at Hearts.

But he's had loads of jobs since at a high level. Do you think he would have done better with us?

Austin MacPhee has also done well at Aston Villa and with the Portuguise national team in backroom roles.
 
I think Pep, Klopp, Bielsa & José would struggle with us.

He seems a decent fellow.

You'd think it was a good time to be taking over at St.Etienne in Division Two, but how long did it take Hamburg to escape Zweite Bundesliga purgatory?

...and speaking of Portugal, where Cathro's been at Estoril, 4th & 5th always used to be Boavista & Belenenses when I was a lad. I know Boavista went bust, but Belenenses went down a few seasons ago and have not returned. Maybe I'll Google them.
