This may seem a bit geeky, I've not been to one of these things before but quite fancy this. It's not til June, btw.

In fact, tell a lie; I went to a Howard Marks one at the queens hall. It was quite entertaining but there were some really fucking weird fan-boy/girls asking completely unhinged questions and laughing at stuff noone else was.

Banks himself is an uber geek so you'd be in good company not saying you're a geek btw hehe). Saw him at a reading at Stirling Uni years ago, was a good laugh although I hadn't read much of his stuff then, might head along to this

Aye, he is a total geek. But, unlike the stereotype he's rather funny and his books are phenominal. He does the geek stuff without it seeming geeky imo.

He pretty much got me into sci-fi in that I now read sci-fi whereas before it was stigmatised for me as I think vast swathes of it is exceptionally shit and makes me think of, well, the stereotypes...

Me & the missus are probably going along, be geeky for a couple of hours and then get rat @rsed with Mr Banks.
