Best thing about it was the diets just expected to turn up today. Already heard someone moaning about their injuries.. stuff them, they like to boast how they beat us with a team they couldnt afford
 
Great result, particularly after conceding the early goal. It was a good game, I thought we played particularly well first half and deserved our lead and more. Second half we started to wobble with about 20 minutes to go and started to hoof the ball and couldn’t get much possession. Sallinger can make some great saves but he makes me nervous when he makes passes out of defense and oftentimes puts a teammate in bad situations. Newell played well today and hopefully he can produce this level of performance more frequently. GGTTH!!

Best hibs performance in a long time. Can really see what the manager is trying to do.

The combinations between the front 5 were excellent. Elding put in some shift and Newell was unplayable at times.

Chaiwa has been getting a bit of slack recently but thought he was class. Swept everything up and tackled every gunt that came near him - did a great job.

Easy to slate the defence but they were solid second half. Mayor is a great defender and Passlack was everywhere. Sally did well second half too.

Hopefully this is the start of something…

Also, had to walk through all the gunts to get to my mates in the southside. The gunt meltdown was fucking hilarious.

He’d have loved that today. Stood next to him at Hamden when we pumped the Huns 3-1, he’d have loved it today as much as he loved that.

Incidentally, Martin Boyle has now scored more Hampden goals for Hibernian than any other player.

I mind us giving it to the Huns in hospitality sat behind us that game, convinced it was John Beaton 😂

Boyler was outstanding today. Did a great job defensively too.
 
As an earlier doubter, I humbly apologise to everybody. Well done Hibees! Even though I watched it on Premier Sports, was looking forward to the Sportscene highlights but was only the post-match interviews. Update: just watched the recording of Sunshine at the end, was exquisite!

Had the pleasure of having to walk through them to get back to my car. Glorious. Even passed by the hearts ultras who were raging. Best part of the day

Would like to dedicate that win to my late brother, Alan, who passed away 2 months before the Scottish Cup win in 2016. Like all of us, he never seen us beat the Gunts at Hampden. That victory was for him and all the other Hibees who are no longer with us.

To a man, we were absolutely outstanding today. If I’m picking players out, big Izevic was different class especially when you consider he had Kerr beside him. We defended at times like poet warriors but for me we won the game in midfield. Our boys absolutely bossed it in there.

Being stripped of the captaincy has done JN wonders and he looks like a different player. He looks like the player we all knew he could be but never done it consistently enough. Miguel Chaiwa gets better as the game goes on, what an engine on the boy! He was absolutely everywhere, particularly in the second half. Covering every blade of grass, winning headers, flying into tackles. Different class son. Mulligan ran his socks off and had a few driving runs, nice 1-2’s and crunching tackles. McGrath just brings a touch of class to anything we do. Very instinctive positioning to slot home the rebound from Newell’s strike.

Fair play to the manger. I believe we would have lost that game under David Gray.

Onwards and upwards.

Apart from Hammi, and myself… i remember about 99% on here absolutely slaughtering JN. No ifs no buts he was never a footballer and those that thought he was were ridiculed.
And here i read this thread, not 1 single person in about 300 posts has admitted they were wrong. Pathetic. And i don’t care of this thoughts “because we won” the ridicule was off the charts. So where are the experts telling us that we know fuck all about football like we were accused of. It pissed me off so I’m posting this. Get it up the haters

It’s a fair cop. I didn’t rate him. But he’s been good the last three games.
 
I hear a lot of bleating about hearts injuries, but it’s up to hearts how they manage their players with all the games they have to try and draw in Europe

The point though, they have some decent players but several looked to be playing through injuries today and some ended up coming off because of pre existing injuries flaring up rather than bad luck on the day.

So stop boring us with it media

Key part of Dave's team finishing third. Absolutely vital part of that team.

I've always always thought he was a player. Not a world beater, but more than good enough to hang in the SPL.

Not sure about “a slaughtering”. He has oftentimes been heavily criticized for not performing well. Justified most of the time. It’s not often he plays as well as he did today. I’ve criticized him plenty of times. I don’t think he’s shite but he’s no Sauzee either. I rate Newell as being about Brian Hamilton level.
