How can I find out who registered a website using my name and address? I got a letter this morning from a big company asking to stop using a name similar to theirs.
Cheers but that only tells me that somebody has used my name and address to register their site. I'm wondering who actually registered it and why my name.
Doubt any would even know my address. i googled me and nothing came up.A disgruntled ex?![]()

Never been involved in running any sites. I reported it to action fraud and checked my credit history to make sure they haven't tried to use my ID for anything else. They have the paypal logo on the site but paypal are unaware of the site. Hopefully they plucked me out of somewhere with no intentions of using me for anything else.First off, check that the address is the same as the domain you are talking about (ie, there aren't any hyphens in-between words where they shouldn't be, one-letter spelling differences etc).
Did you have someone make a website for you at any time? If so, they might have registered the domain in your name as you were the client.
Lastly, it could just be domain spam. If you have no knowledge of registering such a domain then just ignore hell out of it.
Wouldn't want the old boy getting too excitedSo how do we know it's you posting?
It could be the person using your identity?:surp@
