Generative AIs know fuck all. They are a sophisticated predictive-text. If they’re churning out pro Hitler stuff it’s because they’ve ingested pro Hitler stuff written by humans and theyve pulled that out of their memory banks based on the query put into them.

They are dangerous alright. The Russians seem to be having some success in influencing you with theirs.

If you look at other threads on this board you may notice I criticise them a lot. And the people you are concerned about. And I also criticise the bams that have risen to oppose them and are spreading their own cartload of hate filled rubbish. I think you are being taken in by the second lot.

let’s come back to the search engines and web sources. I’ve worked in tech a very long time and will do my best to give you a view on how your preferred choices work.

You’ve mentioned duck duck go and I’m telling you, it uses Microsoft’s results. It anonymises you from trackers (to an extent) so you won’t be targeted by adverts in the same way and have a degree of protection from data being collected about you. But that is very different from collection and indexing search results which is difficult and expensive, so they pay Microsoft to use the dataset gathered by Bing, Microsoft’s search engine.

As you are fond of saying, their own documents tell you this.

If you prefer Duck Duck Go results, you are preferring Bill Gates to Sergey Brin and Larry Page, that’s all. The bad news I am afraid is that no small player has the resources to do web crawling and indexing. Amazon are apparently about to enter the market; that is the kind of resources you need to compete with Microsoft or Google in this area. The good news is that search engines don’t really work the way I think you fear they do, and probably couldn’t.

They can and do filter results to some extent but this is most in the realm of stopping auto fill - when you start typing in search criteria and it does predictive text style suggestions for what you might be looking for. Those autofills - if unfiltered - and search results generally, are based on what other people are doing on the internet, and in the case of search results, which sites are most linked to.

Simple test; google Hibs and it you’ll get pages in the order of the club sites, Wikipedia and Hibs Net. These are the sites people most link to when referencing Hibs, including dot net having more members by a distance than here so coming before the bounce. It’s very much rocket science in how it’s actually achieved, but the principles are anything but. Search engines will in simple terms give you the most popular sites for what you are looking for. There is a bit of filtering to try and stop you searching for Nazi stuff, or terrorist manuals or nasty porn, but that’s done after the fact and is a constant game of whack a mole.

Have you ever actually looked at Putin's speeches?

He's very clear about his goals and intentions.
He has never threatened the citizens of the west.

He's clearly stated how our Governments have been corrupted though,and that we need to take action.

According to media 90% of Russian army wiped out...yet they are going to invade the whole world.
Most of the bullshit western media states...doesn't even make sense.

Putin is a leader in a world full of puppets

Yup, as I’ve said before, he says sometimes stuff that is more insightful and truthful than any western politician would on, say, the woke madness.

However I also know that Russia is sponsoring that same woke stuff, precisely so he can appeal to those concerned with it. In the same way, it sponsors racists and BLM and antifa, and so on. Chaos and disintegration is the aim, and they only need to nudge here and there as we are busy doing it to ourselves.

Putin is a despot in a world of useless technocrats. On corruption, well, that’s just laughable coming from a gangster state.

Who is saying 90% of the Russian army is wiped out? As for the conscription chatter coming from the army that’s quite obviously about putting pressure on the government for funding. Sunak has of course now ruled out conscription today. That said, that’s politics too; in the unlikely event of a total war in Europe, of course we would need conscription.

For someone preoccupied with schemers, you don’t seem to know scheming when it’s front of you.

@Ryan69 this may come as a disappointment but to my above point, report suggesting Putin is engineering immigration to the west to destabilise it. That’s move one. Move two is to sponsor woke type stuff to increase the heat around it. Move three is to stir up a nativist response to it. Move four is to cultivate BLM or antifa type groups to contest the nativists. Move 5: rinse and repeat.

Before I give you the opportunity to develop a conspiracy in the other direction. He doesn’t invent these movements, just nudges them along. He knows the west is busy tearing itself apart and oils the wheels.
