Best thing since sliced bread, yay or nay ?
Yay from me 👍
Latest wee example , had this item bought for a xmas present and it had a label across the item box 😡 removing the label was fine, if done very slowly but the sticky residue remained WTF . Google said olive oil to remove residue, job done, who would’ve thought eh, well done google 🤪

@Ryan69 will NOT be impressed.

It’s not as good as it was. Gubbed by search engine optimisation, sponsored content and risibly bad AI.

Still the best there is though, imo - although studies might dispute that because the above problems are documented, not just my impression.

AI can only spew out from the information it has. The old saying rubbish in, rubbish out springs to mind.

If the problem persists there is the possibility that Google will start to lose their AI credibility, therefore money and then do something about the questionable shit content!

This is very true - though you’d expect google to have the best and most extensive datasets and indices around - but there is also how smart the algorithm is in making sense of it.

I’ve had google AI tell me ridiculous things - like Edinburgh is further south than London. That’s not the actual example (which i can’t remember) but it was wrong on that level of silliness on some north / south question.

I’m not sure why they’re that bad as google AI in more general terms (than the search engine) was historically pretty good. Android phones skooshed all over Apple in related areas for example.

Perhaps they’re trying to emulate ChatGPT before they’re really ready in that particular area of AI. As your second paragraph implies, there is a full on arms race in that area.

Google is what makes people stupid.

People have lost so much knowledge and skills....by relying on that bullshit.
People don't read books for knowledge these days.

Look at COVID too....How Google censored any expert that dared telling you the truth, and the cure.

Just a coincidence too....it has 3 6s.

Bit harsh on Joe there.
Some of us were stupid way before Google, so that's your argument pretty much destroyed.

This is a problem with the Internet in general. Google is just a search engine, a tool. Its like an index in a library, it's up to the user what they do with the content they look up. The same is true of Bill Gates' search which you prefer iirc.

Mmm. Did they? Not sure they did that versus the social media platforms. I certainly remember being able to read all the guff of the day on the subject.
Just a coincidence too....it has 3 6s.
