Well done big man - it's great to see you've come through the pitfalls of youth with a bit of class & maturity.

That is some gesture from Garry. Above and beyond the call of duty. Certainly clearly shows his feelings for the Hibs. Well done Garry.:applause:

Wonderful gesture by Garry.
Is it just me or is there a real 'feelgood' factor about
being a Hibby just now. :thumbgrin

Well done big Gaz :applause: At least he realises where he's developed so much in coming through the ranks at Hibs , Hope to see you back sometime Garry :thumbgrin :thumbgrin :thumbgrin

Brilliant gesture, thats practically 2 million we've made out of the deal.

I'm dumbstruck. I thought that kind of thing didnae happen outside the pages of roy of the rovers, and certainly not these days.

Major props to GOC - I think he's cemented his place in folklore now. :applause: :applause: :applause:

Yeah , so did Darryl Duffy with Falkirk but none of them was near 200,000! Just goes to show that Garry's heart is still with us :worthy

An absolutely fantastic gesture from Garry. His true feelings for Hibernian come shining through.:bbb: :bbb:

GOC has just restored my faith in humanity. In an era where the greed of agents and players alike threaten to rip the heart out of the game this is a truly magnificent gesture. Gaz wont ever need to by a pint Leith again thats for sure. Legend:beer_1_pr :applause:

Top Class by the big man:applause: Thats us made 1.8 million from his transfer. He owes us really with the contribution he made to the team so it shows just how much he cares for the club:applause: :applause: .

Class, class and nothing but class, it shows you how this young man apreciated everything that was done for him and all the people behind the scenes at ER who helped him develope not only as a player but a man. What a gesture, different class, how can we not cheer for him now and what a boost to all the young players out there who might be thinking of playing here in the future, you have done our reputation a great service. Good luck and God bless GOC
Sorry l have to say it one more time CLASS

cheers alot big man :worthy: True Legend, can't wait til you come back :):):):)

Bril news.... Kris Boyd and Gary might have just started a new appreciation movement to thank clubs who have helped develop their careers. Excellent gesture big man.:yeah: :yeah:

I was amazed when I saw this. Fair play to G O'C an incredible gesture.:applause:

GARRY O'CONNOR has donated his £200,000 signing-on fee from Lokomotiv Moscow to youth development at Hibs.

The Scotland striker made the amazing gesture as a thank-you for the work the Easter Road club put in to developing his career.

O'Connor told Hibs chairman Rod Petrie he wanted his slice of the £1.6million transfer fee given directly back to the club's grassroots training programme.

That is an absolutely outstanding gesture from a guy who obviously recognises how Hibs have had a major influence in shaping his career. The sum of money involved is a huge amount to someone when you consider his earnings for the past year would only be half of that.

Garry O'Connor :worthy :worthy :worthy

That could be a good catalyst for the fans to match that amount to go towards the long awaited training academy. 20 from 10k people would do it, but many people would give more, a few bucket collections at matches would also help.

This generous gesture from Garry will do wonders for the youth set up and can hopefully bringa couple players through of GOC quality.

Well Done Garry O'Conner, you always have a place in the hearts of Hibees.
