Terrific actor,Old Labour,decent human being.RIP
Moaty please don't take this the wrong way but this post reminds me so much of a letter in Viz.I'll not be complaining about a Glenda Jackson season. Some crackin' stuff to watch.
Well said !.The socialist who was best of a generation at explaining how empathetic socialism is, brought her keen intelligence and acting kit to the forum of public debate.
Just compare one of her Any Questions performances with today's sad shower.
Will be sorely missed RIP Glenda
Watch out Gordon.Bangkok'll have a go at you.Her Oscar winning performance in Women in Love was brilliant.
First saw it at the pictures in my teens. Still in my top 5 films.
Memorable moments...
Eleanor Brons pretentious dance for guests being cut short by Alan Bates getting everyone up to do the Charleston.
The tragic death of the two newly weds by drowning.
The nude wrestling of Alan Bates with Oliver Reid.
Glenda Jackson shooing away Highland cows by dancing elegantly in front of them.
Oliver Reid's long walk at the end.
If it does get repeated and you've not seen it, do.
Ken Russels best in my opinion.
BIG G

Whatever Moaty, I feel you've taken my original post the wrong way. Maybe I should have used a few smileysYou were the one bringing up Viz comics not I.
