Glenbuck Heritage Village

Kept a long-standing promise to myself today and returned to the site of the now long gone village of Glenbuck. A very impressive statistic stood out for me: of the 84 players known to have played for the legendary Glenbuck Cherrypickers over the years, at least 50 of them went on to play professionally in the top Scottish and English leagues and 7 of them represented Scotland. From one household alone, 5 brothers became pro footballers, two of them successful managers - one managed Hibs for a period. Very sad to see that nothing is left of the village I remember but heartening to see so many of its sons remembered so fondly.
