There’s a garage right next door to the hibs club… but i imagine you’d be struggling to get it done on the day tbh but you never knowI’m down in Edinburgh for the weekend with the family and my Sisters X3 has developed a blow in the exhaust. Can anyone recommend somewhere to weld it up or try and repair otherwise during the day tomorrow?
Cheers
Joel
Even if you did drive, @moathibby , there would probs still be a lot of garages thereI don't drive but there are a lot of garages along Gordon St.
I have used KwikFit at Fountainbridge for over 10 years now. They have NEVER suggested unnecessary jobs, in fact it has been the opposite. I have a Hyundai and certain repairs have to be done by the main dealer, Macklin Motors. They always do a video of a thorough check over the whole car and email this to you with their recommendations. Every video has listed a long list of repairs needed now or soon. As they contained jobs like brake and tyre replacements I went to KwikFit to save a few bob and was informed that the brakes and tyres were fine and they actually passed an upcoming MOT and then TWO further MOTs. I checked back and found that Macklin Motors videos had always contained repairs that were simply just porkies and KwikFit just did those that were actually needed. I, previously, had little faith in garages in general and was pleasantly surprised by the attitude and customer care from KwikFit. Whether this level of genuineness is spread across the whole KwikFit franchise I don't know but if you are able to use this branch I can highly recommend them. She had an appointment with Kwikfit booked for later this afternoon but I wasn’t sure if they’d just try and sell her new bits when all it really needs is a weld and the gasket renewed.
Thanks again for all the feedback. Once it’s done, can look forward to the game tonight.
You'll need a drink after traipsing round all those garages....You must be (wait for itThanks for the info. Our experience of Kwikfit has been hit or miss to be honest. I’m fortunate that my pals are all in the trade up in Aberdeen but a bit stuck down here to get her help. She was in a bind so a weld will do for now but she’s getting the exhaust section ordered and I’ll sort out getting it replaced when she’s back up the road.
We managed to find a place to do it today so that’ll get her back on the road this afternoon then can get a few drinks before heading to Easter Road :-)
Or just tyred. You'll need a drink after traipsing round all those garages....You must be (wait for it) ....exhausted!!!!!
