I know there are a few Eitracht fans on here, any tips for a visit to Franfurt? When does the league run? What about tickets, easy enough to get? I'd like to get my son a home top, where's best to buy?

On a non-fussbal note; where's good for music/clubbing? Can I get direct flights from Embra? I have a place to stay at a pals hoose, so accomodation is not a consideration.

My German is decent, most confident language other than English. Certainly can get by, missing many adjectives though.

Cheers.

Lufthansa fly there from Edinburgh, ill be there briefly in October. Ryanscare did fly to "Frankfurt" from Prestwick but it was, iirc, 2 hours from the actual city.

The Irish scareline fly from Edina to Frankfurt "Hahn" if that's the place :hmmm

Aye its miles away, closer to Luxembourg! Similar to the Munich "West" airport. 3 hours on a fuckin train!
NB not that Munich is close to Luxembourg.

League starts a week after the SPL does.

First 5 league dates are decided but games can be Friday - Sunday and notice can be as late as 3 weeks before due to plenty euro involvement and tv fukdogs. Eintracht are in the play off round for Europa league so might have a few Sunday games if they get through. Check group game dates on wikipedia if they get through

You'll get a ticket easy - can do print at home - other than for Bayern games which is season ticket only to stop those sl@gs buying them up. I'd avoid that and the Dortmund games as too many of those lot kicking about and too many day trippers. Understandable as we would prefer to see bigger clubs when going to England or Germany for example but the difference is that watching a Frankfurt game v the likes of Gladbach/Lautern/Cologne/Stuttgart/Nuernburg will be a sell out as well and with livelier away supports

Tops are very expensive for all ages - https://ws1-eintracht-frankfurt.de/...h=188&osCsid=e7c2317e487fa909da803ba3fd7a13a5
Doubt there will be many places outside Germany offering them

I used to use Ryanair often, no problem sitting on a bus for 1hr 40 when you are saving a fortune on the plane fare. Hahn is a doddle also and can be at the gate 10 mins after the bus arrives. The timetables ofthen changed though and the days and times were sometimes no good for football trips.

Normal routes are lufthansa direct, BA via London or KLM via AMS, sometimes Air France via CDG.
Skyscanner will find best prices and can alter search to suit preferred departure times.

Have a search on toytowngermany to get tips on clubbing as Fuctiffano. Cocoon is well known tho. Summer is best time there (to late sept will be nice) as there are a few beach clubs on the go, plenty happening outside, train trip to wine regions is cheap and quick for some sightseeing along the Rhein. There are some very good festivals on throughout the year so worth checking before booking. Many tradefairs also which push digs prices up.

Not a lot tourist wise in Frankfurt itself. Up the Main tower, Roemerplatz (historical centre), apfelwein tram tour, couple of boat trips on the Main!! and thats about it - tripadvisor "things to do" is always good for cities. Plenty good places for food and drink like all big cities, avoid main station area as its p!sh, not so dodgy but easy to get ripped off as I warned last group - and one boy still managed to lose the lot and was stuck over there!

If you narrow it down to a couple of weekends, give me a shout for more info.

Flights are easy.... I fly home at least once a month.... plenty direct flights from Frankfurt main with buses and trains going into frankfurt centre....If you book early enough with Lufthanse you can get it for 100 Euro return.... but usual price is around 200 from what iv paid.... I think its cheaper if you book in group as me and the Mrs usually get home and back for 300 euros.... I personally dont have a problem flying from Hahn... (flying that route at 6pm today) doesnt take too long its bus 600 which goes to frankfurt am main flughafen which costs 14 euros......as with most Ryan air flights it can sometimes have funny times but there is plenty of cheap hotels in Hahn that do transfers included in price of room (usually dead cheap as a group maybe 15 quid each) or there is a B+B at the terminal for 40 quid a night....also the schedule for Hahn isnt weekend friendly alot of the time and a long weekend would be best option....

Sightseeing..... Iv not done much in Frankfurt but the rhein trip is pretty good some nice scenery...... I got a day ticket for 26 quid....or you can do other trips at Xmas time and do the christmas market trips which is meant to be awesome.... a few at my work have done it but thats more than a day....

Not done football at Frankfurt yet... I go to the Darmstadt games seen as i am only a stones throw away from my flat..... I know plenty of people who could hook you up with tickets though.

Cocoon's shut down now mate. Not 100% sure why, but I think there were some financial issues.

Robert Johnson Club is routinely listed as one of the best in Europe, the door policy is, to my knowledge, slightly tighter than most in the city, but as long as you don't go in a group of pissed lads you should be fine - Berlin rules apply. Entry is also ridiculously cheap considering their talent.

Have never heard of that one so it must be decent!

There is only the one club worth bothering about Brainwrong

but it's also worth checking if Kaiserslautern or Nuernberg are playing on a different day the same weekend as you can get cheap regional trains there to see another city/stadium/game

Both are great away days
