I dimly recalled reading of this and it came to mind just now - I thought I'd invite Smurf to have a bash :giggle:

Anyway, predictably it turns out to be ideological bollocks that doesn't map to actual fascism at all, but to the prejudices of Frankfurt school quacks, a strain of authoritarian socialist who have much in common with actual fascism.

So much so, I was disappointed to be ranked as a healthy moderate (though the labels for the rankings are clearly not from the original work as you will see!)

Anyhow, let's see how Smurf turns out.

I'm guessing a perfect Frankfurt schoolers - stern condemnation of all that is heretical counter balanced by approval of all that is venerated. That's why I'm pissed at my own same score - on the assumption that middle of the road is good, we're being measure by a vile benchmark - not to be confused with the labels puts on after he fact. Then again, whining wotsit may be the originally desired score - it's certainly the formula for jackboot wearers albeit I. Pink patent

3.36 I am disiplined but tolerant. I am a Smurf. :rascal:

Within normal limits; an appropriate score for an American. (The overall average score for groups tested in the original study is listed in the 1950 publication as 3.84, with men averaging somewhat higher and women somewhat lower.)

2.333 liberal airhead but some of the questions I object to and dispute their utility in measuring what we're trying to measure

Speaking of online tests, try the Race IAT one in this link.

Very interesting.
Doesnae work on my cult of apple device so will check out later. Wee 162 posted one of these yolks ago. I seem to recall being completely neutral versus al's vicious anti white bias. Ok wafer thin more negative response to white people is possibly more precise, but still an amusing tribute to al's commendable correctness!

Evidentally i`m a liberal airhead. I think i`ll demand a recount....:hmmm

Tried this now and unimpressed by the results - my joke about Al has now fallen flat; i seem to favour black people most, then hispanics, both quite some margin over asians, and whiteys least favoured.

now I like to think I'm neutral, but I can't believe that if I have any unconscious bias it's most against whites, and second least against hispanics, who - in the yankee sense, as opposed to spanish folks or whatever - i have hardly encountered unless in the US.

and no i have definitely not read the results the wrong way around!

2.9 - liberal airhead

...and a moderate automatic preference for light skin (I d love redheads!!)

2.53, Liberal Airhead. I can handle that! :giggle:

Some fantastically ambiguous q's, and some downright ludicrous, though!

Nowadays more and more people are prying into matters that should remain personal and private.

What "people"? Yer pals? Yer maw? The shadowy and insidious commies in government?

I found that question interesting for a different reason. I think it is deliberately vague as it is intended to ferret out a demeanour rather than be specific. However I nurse a perhaps unfounded suspicion; that answering strongly on this, which would be to take an intrinsically anti fascist position, would actually up your fascist score. I say this given the origins of the quiz in the Frankfurt school, inventors of highly invasive political correctness.

Apparently i am a liberal airhead. In all honesty you could formulate any psychological test and work the questions to suit the agenda which, i'm sure the fascist's were so adept at using. I suppose you could ask who the most admired and influential people have had on their lives in respect of life and how to live it.

The missus first : D then...

Interesting point. I'd imagine it's highly likely, given that presumably they spent a long time deliberating over the wording of the questions. The choice of the more ambiguous "people", over more specific terms such as "government", "civic society" or "neighbours" would seem to support your suggestion.

I can't help but find myself wondering what you're like in real life EGB! :Sparkle_Cool:

Interesting. Apparently I favour blacks over anyone, I know thats not true. I think its more that the blacks were easier to identify, sometimes it was hard to tell between the asians and the latinos.

@egb Have you read a culture of critique by Kevin B Macdonald chapter 6 about the frankfurt school is very informative. As is the whole book, part of a trilogy but definitely the best part.

I dunno, to me someone with 4 degrees who is a university psychcology professor isnt your average crackpot. Anyway youve answered my question, theres not many who are aware of the Frankfurt School and its legacy so I was just curious.

But I blame the Frankfurt schools for the ideas of the Frankfurt school, not the Jews. There are plenty of well educated crackpots - pick up a copy of the guardian any day if you are in need of persuasion!
